WHAT A CUTIE PIE

I'm going to try to post a picture. It will probably take another try so sorry about that.
MoZ, he is just the cutest thing! What a little darling! My old roommate's pug was crated for a while, like two months or so. We'd let him out of the crate when we got home from work and immediately take him outside to do his business. Then we'd let him roam around the apartment and get familiar with it. We laid out layers of newspaper in one corner of the room. If we saw him walking in circles, sniffing the floor, he needed to go to the bathroom and we would pick him up and put him on the newspaper. It didn't take long for him to get the idea. We alternated with scooping him up and taking him outside. But wanted him to be able to roam the apartment without us there, but to know that the newspaper was for his personal use. He got the message. At night, we put him back in his crate. That was the whole routine.

You should read up on the dog's temperment so that you know how to treat him, or to learn how a particular treatment will affect his personality. Pugs can either be playful or quiet, depending on how you treat them. If you're a quiet person and sedentary, the pug will grow up to be quiet and relaxed at home, if you're rambunctious and play with the dog a lot, he'll grow up to be hyper. But pay attention to what the book says about the dog's possible personality. Have fun with the little monkey! He is so cute!!

Hello to all you 2-legged creatures, too.

Regards,

WG

AAAAhman

(AAAAhman, does everyone aaaah for you when you first meet?)

Good morning, aaaah, and thanks for the warm welcome. I do think this is a great group and feel really comfy up here. It is nice to be welcomed by so many! MZo, your pup is too cute!

I came to MD 13 years ago from Charleston, SC, and... even though I still miss Charleston (except for hurricanes), I absolutely love it up here.

The sun is shining today, the leaves are popping back out and it's STILL THE WEEKEND!!! Who could ask for more??? Y'all have a great day!!

Hey Modern, that's right. And now we have to be even quieter because the puppy is asleep, too. Do you think we should tell MoZ that puppies are chick magnets? Women find puppies irresistible and when he takes his out for a walk, tons of women will notice him and his pup and will always be stopping him to see the dog, making it easier for him to talk to women. *giggle*

He's so excited! I bet he hasn't thought of that benefit yet but it's all true. Women will be gushing about what a cute dog he has and he'll be grinning & thinking of ways to capture phone numbers.

LOL

I can't wait to hear his daily reports from the dog walks.

I hope you're having a great day! It's nice to see the sun. I hope everyone else will have a wonderful day.

Regards,

WG

good morning maryland -

what a beautiful beautiful morning

hope everyone has a great day :D

Happy Sunday

Morning everyone...Princess, Wav,Jack, Temp, Roman, Bethy, MoZ, Watergirl, Redbeard,
Shawn(where have you been?) and all the Newbies I haven't met yet and anyone I may have forgotten...

The sun is shinning "Oh what a beautiful morning, Oh what a beautiful Day, I got this feeling, everything is going my way" (or how ever it goes)
Life is good in Virginia this morning...Hope all is well for y'all...

I'd love to be on a sailboat in the bay somewhere...but I guess I'll just stay here, maybe work in my yard a little...
Congrats MoZ on the new baby...I agree with WAV, having raised a few pups myself..crate training is the best.

Have a good one!:)

Hey, MoZ,

You might want to get one of those baby gates for the little poop machine, too. You can get them at Wal-Mart or Target, they're those portable gates with wooden slats, like a crib, and you can expand them to fit across an entranceway, like the kitchen, so the dog can't get out. We had the crate for the pup but we also put up the baby gate, giving him about two feet of space to roam around in, because he learned to turn his box over and the baby gate kept him from roaming around the house unsupervised. What's his name going to be, have you decided? Little Zorro? Tonto? Buster Brown? Poop Factory?

POSTING WITH MYSELF

Oh, oh, posting with myself,
if I had the chance I'd ask the world to dance and not be posting with myself oh, oh, oh-oh...

So, who won the NASCAR race? I think the O's won and that's all I'm really sure about. I spent the afternoon doing laundry and watching Titus, starring A. Hopkins and Jessica Lange. It was weird but very good. Julie Taymor directed it and she adds a lot of stage theatrics in her movies. She directed the stage version of the Lion King and it was special for some reason. Now, she does movies. She also directed Frida, which had some of those theatrical touches to it.

I also watched South Park's First Season. It was hilarious! "No, Kitty! Those are my cheesy poofs!"

Good night, all.

Princess, thanks for the tip about the movie. I was interested in seeing that one. Good to know it's only worth the Matinee cost.

Welcome to the Maryland thread, HomeAlone. I hope you enjoy yourself here.

Off to work,

**Maryland** Lit-together NEXT WEEK!!

Here's a recap of the plans for the upcoming Lit-together for this thread...again, depending on the response, we may change the meeting place to DuClaw's or Jillian's in the mall, since they take reservations--I still haven't found out if Chevy's does the same.

Starting next week, I'll be asking for a more official headcount of those likely to attend, to see if reservations are warranted--so check your datebooks!

OK, there are enough newbies (to this thread, anyhow) and others who probably could use the 411 on the Lit-together without trawling through the entire thread for clues. Here are the details. I'll post this info (or a link to this message) periodically as well.

Date: Friday, May 9
Time: Probably starting around 6:30 to 7 pm
Place: A restaurant to be named later (and a second-round draft pick)
Location: Arundel Mills Mall, Hanover, MD
Info: http://www.arundelmills.com

Leading candidates for the place to meet are Chevy's in the mall itself (Tex-Mex) or TGIF's (which is somewhere??? near the mall). Both places are likely to be packed--I don't know if Chevy's takes reservations or not. If anyone else knows a good place in that same area, please post it. Folks can just show up when they're able, to munch and meet, and talk for as long as they want...

Hope y'all can make it.

Follow-up Lit-together

Not to get overly-eager, but depending on the success of the first Lit-together, I'd be interested in organizing a happy hour or dinner meeting in downtown DC to accommodate those of us who work in the city, and especially in consideration of our many Northern VA friends. Feel free to PM me if you're interested, and I'll start the thought processes on that!
