Mass Effect: Normandy Renegade IC [U/C]

Vincent Anastasio

Vincent sighed in relief when Derek calmed down, he had grown very nervous when he saw the grenade. These person could be very dangerous. He nodded, "Good, now we have a mission coming up, but as soon as we`re done, I`ll get those drinks."

Vinent walked over to Garrus, "Hey Garrus, everything alright now?"

Legion

Legion followed the source of commotion. It was caused by Baxter, of course. His behavior was worse than Jack's. And his ideas were no better. A shot from the M920 Cain would fry all electronics in the area and may well destroy the very shipment they were here to acquire. It was poor decisive skills. He was soon reprimanded by Garrus after a particularly obscene comment. Vincent attempted a degree of diplomacy that seemed to work, somewhat. Legion's eye, however, was on Baxter's hand the entire time. If he released, a sniper round was going right through the primer of that grenade. It would effectively disable the device, and then Baxter would most likely be further reprimanded by Garrus, immediately follow by Shepard, and most likely Creator Tali for endangering the ship.

Legion lowered his rifle, but did not take his finger off the trigger, when Baxter put the pin back in the grenade. He would be keeping a closer eye on the man if he was still allowed to go back on the mission. This one was trouble.

Legion keyed up a report of the situation:

Subject Baxter-Sargeant is becoming increasingly volatile. We recommend further investigation of the soldier by Sheperd-Commander as soon as possible to avoid further endangerment to the crew and vessel."

Legion.

That was his short worded comment on the matter. He attached video and audio feeds from the Normandy's systems as well as audio and video from his own personal systems. He also attached his weaponry calculations to show that he would have handled it.

Legion was not trying to get on Sheperd's "good side", but was merely ensuring proper discipline and respect aboard the Normandy.

Legion sent the file and waited, watching Baxter calmly.

And on a side note? Legion was holding the Cain. And it was fully active.

DNA scanners are easy to bypass when you have DNA of everyone aboard the Normandy.

Legion always has his bases covered.

Garrus Vakarian

Garrus appreciated Vincent's concern. Baxter was a loose cannon and Garrus sure as hell wasn't going to put the mission or the team at risk. Jack may be unstable, but she wasn't as self destructive as she claimed to be. When it came to the mission she showed enough restraint not to put everyone else in danger. Garrus didn't like Jack, but he'd grown to trust her. This guy? Not a chance.

Garrus hit the comm to call Shepard. "Commander? We have a situation for you to deal with." Garrus closed the channel and looked back at Baxter. "I am done with you Baxter. If it was up to me you'd be out the airlock already, but this is Shepard's ship and it is her call. But this mission is being run my way and you are not coming. You have no respect for the chain of command, you do not seem to care one shit about the team and I don't trust anyone who can't make rational decisions."

Joker

Joker groaned in frustration. Ever since the mission to the Collecter base he had been in a sore mood. The Normandy had taken some serious damage and, even though it was under maintenance, problems were still cropping up. It had broken his heart to see the Normandy in such a state.

Joker looked down at his navabase data systems and saw that they were arriving at their destination.

Tali vas Normandy

There was a moment before the first swing had been delivered that Tali hoped to interject. Keeping the crew members sane was a speciality implicated by years of living on a vessel. If there was one thing, other than surival, that the Quarians knew, it was how to handle stressful situations. Of course, as soon as Garrus raised his fist Tali stepped back against the wall, not in fear, but in shock. She knew that Garrus was strong, but that looked frighteningly painful and she grimaced as if her own face had been hit.

Tali looked back and forth between the two men as if waiting for the next strike to run across Garrus's face, of course, his weapon withdrawn put a damper on that plan. Her heart raced with adrenaline, only for the fact that a breach in the hull would really not work in their favor. Of course, the Normandy came equipped with ways to put a hault on a breached hull, even the feeling of being ripped from the safety of the Normandy into the blackness of space scared her half to death.

"Garrus." She spoke up. Looking at his seemingly still drawn weapon as if to say it was not a very good idea, at least where things stood. This was starting off to be a really bad mission and the damned thing hadn't even started. "Probably best if we, put that away." Tali turned and glared at Baxter, though it was hard to tell she was doing so from behind her face shield.

"Shepard placed both Garrus and Jacob in charge of this mission. It is best that we follow those orders. Going against either team leader is in direct violation of Shepard's orders. Can we at least find a compromise in this? Just leave the weapon behind, I don't think such a thing is needed against some low level Blue Sun's mercs. I doubt they have anything that can make us wish we had that......"

Garrus Vakarian

Garrus holstered his pistol, but stayed alert. He didn't need to create any more stress, and with everyone else here, Baxter wouldn't last long if he tried anything. The turian was fully aware that Legion had his eye on Baxter. If the moron tried to move anywhere near a grenade the geth would likely snap his neck. Garrus will always be jealous of Legion's reflexes, but considering the trade off...

Tali's diplomatic approach was definitely helpful. Even if Garrus wanted to be diplomatic he couldn't at this point. Back at C-Sec there was no shortage of lunatic soldiers with attitude problems. Some people get a gun and think they're the deadliest son-of-a-bitch in space. Responding to aggression with more aggression is usually a bad idea. But for some lunks that was all they understood.

"If Shepard orders me to let you come, you'll be back in. But consider that gun, off limits for you." Garrus looked over at Jacob. "Jacob, if you and Legion think that the Cain needs to come then bring it. I don't agree at all, but Legion at least will think and calculate before he pulls the trigger."

Garrus moved away from Baxter. He gave Tali a quick look and an even quicker small smile. He would have to find a way to show his appreciation to her and Vincent. Neither had to get involved, and they certainly didn't have to try and be diplomatic with that psycho. Garrus wasn't Shepard, he didn't have that nice balance between intimidation and persuasion.

It was almost time to go, and no sign of Morinth.
