Warpy, I am sorry to hear of the news regarding your sister. I hope she is doing well and recovering.
Just arrived home last night from the wedding so been out of touch since Thursday morning--my brother was married in Sedona, AZ. We had two days of ridiculous rain but a great time.
I am sorry to hear also from the thread that it sounded like it didn't work over the weekend.
Since people responded that they want to try, I think it is worth maybe another shot.
Weekends can be dificult, with people on dates and social engagements with friends and family. Hard to ignore people in your life to close up in a room with the computer...
We might get away with weekend mornings or afternoon, but weeknights are probably still the best shot....???
Maybe once again we could look at asking for input as to times looking out a week or so, or get generally good nights with a little more advance notice.
Also, I understand the idea was interjected to start with a small group, perhaps it could grow slightly, ideally balanced M & F, such that as the last minute things of life pop up that their are a few more people in the mix.
Maybe?????

the fact is nothing happened on the weekday or the weekend, and it takes a fair amount of time to do this kind of thing, and time is the one thing i don't have alot of, so i tend to be a little choosy about how i spend it. no return investment is not one of the ways i spend it. perhaps someone with organizing skills can be of more value to the folks who expressed interest, but i noticed that alot of people didn't even bother to open their pm's, or bother to respond when asked for input. kinda like, "if you do it all for me, and i don't have to anything for myself, i'll do it". leaves a bad taste in ones mouth, and is indicative of energy i don't want to be around.

I second shescurious' s thanks to Warpy for effort and a great idea.
I still think the group is a good idea.
If we
1) schedule far enough out
2) iron out the details of where: which of 2 chats on literotica, or go offsite to private chat that works better with all operating systems.
3A) slightly increase group size expecting that no matter which night we choose there will be conflicts.
3B) Or, allow group size to go up significantly, and have signups. Try and rotate through group via assignment mixing members, with those slots open due to RSVP negatives filled via signup with remainder of group?
4) have a second administrative person as backup responsible for opening up the chat room in case of trouble for the designated leader for that meeting...Perhaps the leader and 2nd admin could be rotated as well once things were worked out and moving along??
5) maybe, if comfort exists between members, and tech is available we can eventually even look at a webcam offshoot??
6) I recall there was difficulty in getting a time that works due to members being scattered across the globe. I don't want to be selfish, but with work, sleep, family and friends it may be difficult to coordinate across time zones. I personally would be interested in weeknight evenings. If, as people respond there is great disparity in availability we may need to subdivide.

I don't want to bum ruush this thhing and "take over", but would be willing to try and coordinate with like minded folks.
What I would be willing to try to do is target something at a rate of maybe once every other week, or once per month. Any more is more than I can handle...

I realize that everyone wants to please the masses however in being realistic, you can only please some of the people. If you are sincere about participating in a discussion such as this, you will make the time to participate. I also understand that there are time differences as not all who want to participate live in the same area, therefore. several different times should me set and let the chips fall where they will, i.e., the first set chat will be on such and such date at such and such time. Perhaps there could be several moderators in different countries that could set times and dates and then perhaps a few could participate in several different discussions.
If people are serious about getting involved they will make the effort to participate.
