We used to have great healthcare.I suppose it is still good compared to some other countries.Compared to 20 years ago it has slipped a long way.A lot of good doctors and nurse`s have left to go into private sector.I dont blame them its where the money is.Waitng list`s are long and getting longer( dispte what the govt figures say).It is still very good, but come back in another 10 years....I dont you will find a NHS...it will be like America..and will reqire insurance..just in case you get ill

If Rand was premiscient, then eventually that sort of thing will have to be outlawed*. Hillary Rodham, Presidential Candidate, made that front and center in her plan; the elimination of the Private Medical Sector.

true, it is defo the best wat for healthcare, I didnt know Canada had the same system thats a good thing ....but is Canada`s being stripped like ours in Britain.I cant complain the NHS has delivered my two boys with great care.Also it is true that only the nightmare stories get publicised. people dont want to hear about the thousands that go well each day.I can only really go off what you hear the Doc`s and nurse`s saying

Yes we work on the same system.
Of course people don't want to hear the good stories. My concern is that privatization would lead to inequalities in the health system with only the wealthy being able to afford certain treatments.

I dont know if you would call it privatization as such, but over here we do get people being pushed back on the waiting list because some from abroad has come to this country and are prepared to pay the 20,000 + it can cost for a big operation..Hospitals have a budget given to them off central govt, which is always not enough..they cant afford to turn these offers down, but atleast the 20,000 is going back into NHS and not some profiteers pocket

It's not the perfect plan but no plan ever is. Im saying we have it good in comparison.
I love living in a country where all citizens qualify for health coverage regardless of medical history, personal income, or standard of living.
