Medieval Madness

Raven

I whisper lightly a small spell making Dawnfire appear to be only a plain horse........then turn to MArcus. "And you??" I smile down at him a glint in my eyes., "How shall you be traveling?"

Marcus had remained silent, watching the party decide the best plan of action, and when it appeared that everyone was ready, he broke his silence. "Well then, to the south it is." and with that, he called on a strong updraft to lift himself into the air, and as he did so, dropped the facade of the knight. He hovered about a foot above the ground and adressed the party. "Talon will go ahead of us and scout ahead to find the unicorn." With that said, the phoenix nodded his head and took flight. "Let's be off."

Raven

I start off letting Dawnfire have her lead, making her own way as we head south following the gold and red feathered tail ahead of us. I concentrate and send a very focused thought keyed so that only one animal could sense it, ("Be Vigilant!!"). I send the thought foreward specifically sent to one being, knowing that no one else can here it. We slow slightly as we enter a heavily wooded area, I get my mare to slow considerably knowing that the larger, horses are going to have a harder time getting through the thick treeline. I remind dawnfire to tuck up her wings aginst her body so as not to tear them as she dilligently makes her way through the trees and scrub. I keep my ears focused on the others of my party, feeling eyes on the back of my neck. "Bard, Where have your travels taken you?"

I helped him up behind me and a slow smile crossed my face. I could feel his lean hard body against my back and it was sending shivers down my spine. Sensing my excitement, A'maeler let out a snort as if telling me to cool my heels

The Bard pulled out panpipes and began to play, the soft melody was very uplifting

I turn my head and whisper behind me, "Sounds very nice"

Darris paused, lifting his lips from the panpipes. "Here and there, as the will takes me. Sometimes I feel as if there's not a kings highway or a country lane my feet haven't walked, or noble court or village tavern where I have played" Darris first replied to Raven.

"Thank you my lady, it always pleases me to hear my music is appreciated. What is a bard without an audience?" he added in answer to the compliment from the lady who had just joined them, which quickly reminded him. "I do not believe we have actually been properly introduced, and here you are offering me a ride. Darris Silverbranch, at your service."

"Pleased to meet you, my name is Mirdanthielle, Mira for short"

I beam a smile at the bard behind me and spur A'maeler on southwards

Valandra, unicorn

She ran and ran and ran, until she couldn't run anymore. She stopped at a stream and drank. The animals of the forrest were quieter now, and she sensed that a group of wild horses were nearby. She glanced up at the moon and realized she was close to her cycle of heat.

(ooc: *Bump* Lets not let this one die ..... it has so much potential)

Telereth

As they rode, his eyes studied the road ahead, while his mind studied his companions. He could not stop thinking of the changeling, he knew this feeling, he knew the destruction it could bring. The bard, he would rather not have along, but he could not bring himself to do away with an icon that reminded him so much of his past, his life before his father took him, his happiness before he knew the truth of his blood. They rode in near silence, occasional conversations starting, then dying out. The sun began to fall to the horizon, and he stopped his mount suddenly, surprising the group. He raised one hand and pointed to a wide, flat area of ground.

"Now would be an opportune time to set up camp for the night."

I looked around at the spot he suggested. It seemed ok for the night and I began preparations for the evening.

"I have provisions for a meal, if someone will gather firewood I can make dinner"

Raven

I dismount from Dawnfire patting her neck and breaking the spell at the same time. Looking around I sniff the air around the campsite then headed towards a small cluster of trees, my ears perking as I get closer hearing the sound of the river just beyond the treeline. Dawnfire next to me I lead her to the river and smile to see an abundance of vegitation that she can eat as well as the cool clear water ahead. I remove my cloak laying it across a bush nearby and also remove the small satchel that was on my back hidden by my cloak. Removing the brush from it I begin to firmly rub down Dawnfire telling her what a good girl she was and how beautiful she is I can feel her relaxing under my minstrations and my thoughts begin to shift to the warrior. (Halfling) I remind myself, as I shake my head to try and clear it of his image. A shiver runs up my body as I imagine what it would be like to posess and be posessed by such a one. I finish brushing my aliacorn and turn placing some apples near her to snack on I lean back against a tree content for just a moment to be away from my companions. My mind races trying to figure out how to warn the beast without my companions knowing. I finally stop worrying about it for the moment and realize as I watch the flowing water just how long it has been since I had a bath. I remove my boots then stand slowly walking to the water testing it with my feet then taking a quick glance around. I realize suddenly that the others must have decided to pitch their tents and eat before they dealw ith the horses and thinking it safe enough I shed my clothes, jerkin, leggings, gloves, let down my waist length hair and slowly submerge myself. The sun is setting turning the water to liquid gold around me and I see dawnfire lounging contentidly near the shore, guarding me and I dive under again scrubbing the dust from my hair and body.

I prepare the night's meal and set up a section for sleep. I then turn my attentions to A'maeler and un saddle him. I take my time, making sure he is well groomed and fed. I remove his bridle and let him roam free, he is smart and will stay nearby. I whisper to him in elvish "Stay close and keep watch"

He trots off in search of a nice patch of grass to munch on. I decide it's time for a bath and head to the water. I begin removing my clothing before I realize the other female companion in our group is in the water

"Pardon me I didn't know anyone else was here ..... I will wait until you are done" I go to turn and walk away...

Pulling his travel blanket out from his pack, Darris threw it out over a likely looking stretch of ground and then moved off to collect drywood for the camp fire as Mira suggested. The supper was simple fare but nourishing and enjoyable enough.

"Looks like it will be a pleasant night, bright stars and plenty of moonlight," he said to no-one in particular as he regarded the sky above.

Sitting cross-legged upon his blanket, he picked up his lyre and began to pluck out a song. Collaspible poles and waterproofed canvas unfurled from his pack, and his tent was raised about him in tune with the music. A small hammer tapped pegs into the earth securing the guide ropes. Within a couple of minutes the work was complete, and Darris came out into the cool night air.

Marcus went about setting up his camp. He produced a small tent from within his robe and set it down. He stepped back and lifted the shrinking spell he had cast upon it. His tent grew to it's normal size, and he staked it into the ground. As he was doing this he thought of his phoenix. He felt vulnerable without the sharp senses of the raptor to detect intruders. He shrugged it off and decided to explore the area a little.

He hadn't wandered far into the woods before he heard flowing water. He had always been a lover of fish, but hadn't had any in quite some time. He saw the river through the trees and immediately began studying the water for fish. As he stepped into the clearing, he was so caught up in his search for fish that he didn't even notice the lovely creature bathing not a hundred yards upstream from where he was.

Raven

I bring my head up out of the water my ears perking at the sound of people approaching........
"Pardon me I didn't know anyone else was here ..... I will wait until you are done"
I hear from the helf elfin female. "It's fine....Mira is it?", I turn towards her and smile my fangs glinting softly in the evening light. "I was about to go find myself a hot meal anyway....although your cooking smells lovely I'm afraid I"m going to need something a bit different tonight." That said I close my eyes raising my arms palms upward to the sky and whisper an ancient incantation, my body begins to glow my eyes and ears becoming more defined my hands altering before I am wrapped in myst and just as quickly the myst clears showing one of my other forms. A purr comes from my lips as I lick my jowels and in my Great black cat form begin to walk out of the water on the opposite shore the only identifying thing on me is my necklace, clingly to my neck. I stop briefly and look in the direction I hear the mage, allowing him to see me before I take off up a large tree to hunt....knowing that dawnfire will bed down for the night and the others will be there when I finish. I send a brief mental touch to the mage as I know he has some ability with animals....(I Go to hunt and guard.........I shall return briefly).

Marcus hadn't even noticed the changling there untill he sensed her magic. He looked up and caught an to see an odd mist clear. the large cat looked at him and sent the telepathic message. He nodded and sent one in return. Thank you for your gaurdianship may your hunt be friutful As an after thought he gave her a sly smirk. You do make a lovely cat my dear. Black suits you.

That being said, Marcus shifted his gaze back to the stream. A large trout swam by and Marcus froze the water around it. He waded a bit into the stream and retrived the block of ice with the fish captive. He set it on the ground to thaw while trying to think of how he wishes to cook it.

BTW: Marcus still doesn't know that Mira is there.

RAven

I smiled to myself as padded off.........using the trees I trekked through the woods until I spotted a large buck. I crouched low on a branch moving foreward cautiously, and at just the last moment.........SLAM>>CRUNCH. I jump down on its back and grab its spine between my teeth twisting sharply and severing the vertabrae. I drop the animal and turning it over latch onto it's throat growling lowly as the blood gushed into my mouth with the help of my canines. After blooding my kill I drag it up into a nearby tree.......<I should take this back and share it> I think to myself and proceed to call my aliacorn to me and I sit there and wait. Once she arrived I dropped the kill onto her back and overriding her objections coax her into taking it to the camp........(You may sleep afterward my dear, take this to the warrior) I say to her mind adding a mental caress as she darts off lightly. I tap the warriors mind lightly (Dawnfire brings food.....I shall stand the first watch....you will know me when I come). That sent I slowly make my way towards the camp by a different route avoiding the river and keeping violet eyes and ears open as I glide silently through the trees and bushes easily within sight I jump to a low hanging branch and watch Telereth and silverbranch working around the now well built fire, smiling ferally as dawnfire approaches the warrior with my offering.

Mira

Watching the changeling pad off as a cat I smile to myself, I wish I could do that.

I set about the task of continuing to undress letting the remainder of my clothing fall around my feet. I pick up my belongings and set them on a nearby rock bedore I walk to the edge of the water. The only thing I am still wearing is my knife around my calf. I never go anywhere without it. I look up at the moon and marvel at it's beauty. It reflects on the water maing it look like a million twinking stars on it's surface. Slowly I start to enter the water taking time to get used to it's coolness. My nipples harden when the cool water touches them and I submerge myself, rinsing the day's travels from my body.

Telereth

"As the others erected various tents, Telereth chose a clear spot away from the rest. He tied his mount to a tree then removed a simple bedroll from it's saddle, laying it on the ground, he began to unlatch his armor plates, removing them one by one and carefully placing them on the ground, followed by the black chain shirt and padded jerkin worn beneath. Under all of his armor he still wore a full black long-sleeved shirt, black pants, and flared cuff boots and gloves, not exposing an inch of his flesh. As he finished he picked up his blade and walked to the fire, observing the camp being set up. The changeling's mount approached with a large dead animal across it's back, he then felt her mind speaking to his.

"Dawnfire brings food.....I shall stand the first watch....you will know me when I come"

He nodded and dragged the animal off of "Dawnfire" and over to the campfire.

"Bard, make yourself useful."

He left the others to tend to the beast and went back to his own bedroll, there he knelt and closed his eyes, letting his mind sink into a trance, he had to expel the thoughts of the day, lest they consume him.

Though not an expert in hunting, Darris knew well enough how to skin and prepare an animal for food, but the buck was larger than the rabbits hares and small deer he usually took down and took some time. He also wondered at the method it had been brought down - by sharp toothed bite marks. He had seen no hunting animals with his companions, and this raised his curiousity. This journey would certainly be interesting, he thought, as he cleaned off his hunting knife and returned it to his pack. Cleaning his hands of the blood with water from his canteen, he headed to the river to replenish it.

Eyes so intent on the stars above and the sounds of the forest he was knelt beside the river edge, bubbles coming from his canteen as it filled, before he heard the splashing. He glanced up to see Mira, her back to him, in the moonlit water. Turning, he saw her clothes, and gathered them up, hanging them out on a low branch tidily, before sitting down on a fallen log and beginning to play upon his panpipes again, eyes turned to the stars above once more.

The sound of music causes me to jump. I cover myself and turn around to see where it is coming from and I notice the bard sitting on a stump playing. My hands slowly lower, my body relaxing.

"Sounds very nice, are you playing on my account?"

I lower myself back to the water, letting it come to my neck

"Don't you want to wash the day's journey from you? The water is devine"

Darris smiled, putting the panpipes down on his lap. "I did not wish to startle you with my presence, so I thought a tune might be the best way. These forests are not regularly patrolled by the King's Rangers so I thought it best to stay nearby incase any danger roved near."

He turned to see Mira submerged to her chin in the moonlit sparkling water, her eyes upon him. "Though I think perhaps I may be the one in danger, being tempted by a beautiful water nymph under the full moon."

A broad smile spread across my face,

"Danger? From me? What would give you that idea?" I giggle as I stand and reach down to remove the knife at my ankle. The water is only about mid thigh and my entire body is visible in the moonlight. I grab the knife with it's sheath and toss it on shore near his feet

"See? Completely un-armed and non lethal"

"I would dispute that," he replied, his eyes casting over the loveliness presented to him, "a womans wiles should never be discounted. In this case, though, I think the possible reward outways the risk," he added with a slight smirk.

He laid his panpipes to his side upon the log, then began to remove his clothes. Doublet jacket, shirt and leggings, belt from which hung his rapier and dirk, and all down to his boots soon were discarded, and he entered the water naked, dipping beneath the surface to wet himself fully.

"A little chilly, but refreshing," he said, lifting his head back over the surface, "and I suppose I cannot fault the company."

I watched him shed his clothing, brazenly letting my eyes wander over his body. I thought to myself not bad, not bad at all! as my eyes wandered to his manhood. He stepped into the water slowly his skin getting a slight chill

"A little chilly, but refreshing" he dunked himself and I took the opportunity to step closer to where he is. "and I suppose I cannot fault the company." He said this before his eyes were open and he realized I was standing so close. I let my hands wander over my body, splashing my skin with the cool water.

"Very refreshing after a long day's ride. A'maeler is a fine steed but he can be bumpy at times, specially when trying to show off for others. He's not used to having a man on his back and he takes it rather personal when a man is in close proximity to me like you were for most of the day. Not that I am complaining mind you, it was a pleasure having you ride with me. Nonetheless it feels good to be able to relax my muscles."
