Michael Jackson Acquitted on All Counts... dicuss

That makes a big change. They really acted like it was the most important thing in the fuckin country. Distraction is important, i guess. I mean, I need it myself once in a while. But this was insulting.

Yes, it was.

Weren't there a few more important things happening? Like our impending invasion of Syria, for instance?

(Oh - sorry - just reading between the political lines. And no, this is NOT a political thread!!!)

I have to laugh at all the responses here. This is nothing but a verdict from those of the fruit and nuts of CA. He was guilty of past molesting but not of this case. You can believe the accuser but not his crazy Mom.
Oj and Mj are alike. They got away with it because of incomptetent California juries. Saddam is now applieing to a CA court. I hear Osama will when he's caught.
At least in California you can disagree with the other 49 states and we all know you're nutty. It's too bad you let criminals and pedo's out to the public.
But hey!!!!!!!!!! He's in your community. And the next party is in his bed with your children.

I've been living in the land of fruits and nuts, NorCal version, for the past five years. Aside from spending all kinds of time in LA and SF, I have family in San Diego and have taken several road trips to visit our National Parks, which are located away from the two big metro areas, both along the coast and inland. The metro areas are VASTLY different from everywhere else in Cali in terms of just about everything you can name.

None of this has anything to do with the jury's decision. I watched the interview they did with the entire jury after the verdict came out. Two things struck me. First, they claimed, as all juries do, that they were given specific instructions about the evidence they could consider and the specific charges against Jackson. Those instructions and the burden of proof required to convict led them to their not guilty verdict. They couldn't convict him for sleeping with boys in his bed. The prosecution did not meet the burden of proof.

But the thing that really seemed to sway the jury was the behavior of the primary witness's mother. Apparently, during her testimony she did the following, according to the jury:

- She snapped her fingers at us. I was thinking, "Don't you snap your fingers at ME!"
- She never stopped looking at us. The other witnesses would glance at us, but she just kept staring at each of us the whole time she was on the stand.
- She nodded and winked at me and said that I would understand how things were among our people (Hispanic juror).

That's it. They were extremely uncomfortable and offended by her behavior and, to a large degree, formed a distate for her and her testimony.

I firmly believe she torpedoed the prosecution's case by offending the jury.

"Were you surprised by the verdict, Michael?"

"Yes, very surprised. I never dreamed that twelve adults would get me off."

Yes, but these things are connected. (1) Military recruitment is down. (2) These boys won't sign up for the military if they're all sleeping with Michael Jackson.

Not if you just ignore it, like all celebrity news.

Yes, cant. You are quite right, of course.

But when even CNN Headline News changes their format to introduce a couple of hours of Bimbo Celebrity News in the evenings the prospects for intellectual growth in this country seem pretty bleak.

On a more positive note, are you stalking me?

George Lopez said on a talk show last night that he was invited to the Jackson Celebration Party, but declined as it was BYOB, meaning Bring Your Own Boys.

I think the prosecution's inept handling of the case and the accusers family's fraudnfuckncon history may have given the jury the option to just blow it off, so to speak, no pun intended.

It was serious, our children were watchin as it was turned into a circus, with the clowns as possible child molesters, and the prosecution and defense fought wanting to become the next freak show. I wonder what our children learned?

His guilt or innocence was irrelevant to the media who attempted to convey thier attitude to the ignorant masses and did so, while the intelligent among us shook our heads in frustration and wondered WTF was going on.

Whether he was guilty or innocent I have no idea, but if I was a child, I would feel raped by what I saw happen among my adult protectors.

Meanwhile, the Jackson verdict eclipsed news that matters, like the fate of the Runaway Bride. Are they still engaged, or what?
