I read a thread at this site about sucking a womans' breast and getting milk from her breast without her being pregant.

Sounds really wonderful to do a woman.

There was on thread that gave the herbs name that would induce the milk in a woman's breast.

Just interested in how other people feel about this and what herbs would do this to produce milk in the breast of a woman.

BTW....

clean out your PM box. (Don't forget to delete your sent messages, too. They count toward your 100 maximum limit).

I don't

I don't have any messages in there.

Just post them on the lit board if you will.

I haven't read the other thread, but this may be a quick answer for you-

Fenugreek suposedly promotes lactation (don't know that it induces it, however). There is a tea that many health food stores carry called "Mother's Milk" which has several herbs thought to help with lactation.

Dark beer is said to help, though I don't know if that's due to the relaxing effect of alcohol or the yeast. You could try using brewer's yeast if you don't like beer.

I have also heard oatmeal (not the instant stuff). Honestly, there must be dozens of things out there and who really knows if any of it works. However, even my pediatrician suggested the fenugreek, so I would start there.

I have no desire to lactate.

I have heard you can induce it though. Good luck with this...

I will support the fenugreek option, although I will warn you that it can make the milk (and person producing it) stink to HIGH HEAVEN. It doesn't always happen, but in the few people I have known that tried this to up their milk production while nursing, it has. And the baby has rejected the milk. Not as much of a deal if adults are doing it, but the milk producer might really hate their own smell.

My three.
Ang

(there's also a tea available, called Mother's Milk ironically enough)
(I would suggest calling any Babies 'r' Us store if there's one near and asking about supplements to encourage milk production. You could explain it that someone you know is being asked to attempt being a wet nurse or something to that effect)

Or call La Leche League.

The tea is made by a company called Traditional Medicinals.
