Spent most of the weekend with the folks. My dad isn't doing well, and my mum isn't doing so well. Between both their issues, I've gotten quite depressed and am now worried about them. I hate it when life hands you lemons, and your squeezer is on the fritz.

My turn. Having a lousy week.

1) Allergies kicked-in with vengeance this morning, and the antihistamine is doing nothing. Head stuffy, ears stuffy (and RINGING!), groggy, a little dizzy and off-balance.

2) In my off-balance and catching myself on the hallway wall, bare feet discover a wet spot in the carpet where the dog had "an accident" last night. He hasn't done that in months. I wonder what I did that pissed him off. No pun intended.

3) We need to replace our 20-year-old car. Okay, no problem. But research this morning uncovered that you cannot buy a new car since ~2020 that doesn't totally invade your privacy, tracking your every move, even letting your insurance company know when you floor it so they have a built-in excuse to double your insurance rates. And you can't opt-out.

4) Yesterday I was on the sofa with my laptop, coughed hard, and nearly blacked-out. WTF. New heart problems? Seeing the doc on Monday.

5) Politics.

6) And then, during breakfast, wife confronts me about being so agitated. Duh.

I had that once - but I blacked out entirely. I came too, all groggy, wondering whether I'd fallen asleep on the couch. Then I realised that the last thing I remembered was coughing so hard that I couldn't breathe. It was quite a scary experience.

A few months later it became even scarier in hindsight, when I realised it might have been a very early strain of Covid - the incident took place a month before the world went into the very first lockdown.

That's the president of my fan club! Last month went through my catalogue and called every FMC a whore and a bitch, and every MMC a pussy and a ballless cuck. I noticed that he stayed away from stories where I used big words.

My sympathies. Still, hate is a strong emotion, and you inspired that in them, so ... maybe they'll learn? If you're pissing them off, they still have some engagement with the world. And if that is true, then eventually, they will learn. Sometimes you have to be happy with having been one brick in the wall, instead of the cornerstone.

Keep in mind that YOU are the moderator for the comments on your stories. If there's rude, nasty abusive comments that you don't want to see, there's no reason for your readers to see them too. You have the power to eliminate them.

I spent most of last night and the very early morning hours in my old hometown of Indian Lake, Ohio.
Which consists of Lakeview and Russell's Point.
My team was called in to help with Search and Rescue as well help get people out of the affected areas.
I lived down the road from the old boat and bait shop in Russell's Point, so the devastation and death that the
tornado caused has hit home, since I still have family and friends in Logan County.

This tornado outbreak killed people in Ohio, Indiana and Kentucky.
Spawned tornadoes from Ohio down through Arkansas.

Pray for everyone who lost loved ones and those who have lost everything.

Still feeling miserable, but making progress. Turns out several things I have going on right now are all tied to the decongestant nasal spray my ENT prescribed. I may breath a little easier but... crap... it sure has a buttload of side effects! It shall find the dustbin after I meet with the GP in four hours.

No repeats on the fainting thing.

I have always had a “respond directly and calmly” thing in my head for online stuff but for my stories, some of the comments I have read this morning feel more like full on trolling that probably could be deleted.
