Could the military further militarize Minneapolis?
Critics argue the move is more about signaling power than improving safety
administration prepares the military for deployment, Minnesota organizers describe Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s presence as so pervasive and violent that some question whether the deployment of the actual military would even affect conditions there in practical terms.
Christa Sarrack, the president of Unite Here Local 17, a Minnesota hospitality workers union, told Salon that union members were afraid to go to work in hotels and airports in particular due to the ICE presence there.
“Many are choosing to just stay home and not go to work because of that fear. And this is across the board, regardless of immigration status,” Sarrack said. “It seems that ICE doesn’t really care about immigration status. It is just about the color of their skin. That’s how our membership is feeling. At the airport, we have had 15 members who have been detained.”

Sararck said that if the federal government cared about the safety of Minnesotans, it would pull ICE out of the state. one of the most surreal moments I've ever seen on TV was Fox News quoting Attorney General Pam Blondi about the Sunday protests at the "ICE Agent/Pastor's Church" was an attack on "Christianity in general".....the video showed ICE beating the hell out of protesters LIVE on TV as the talking head yammered about paid protesters....except these "paid protesters" were actually the clergy of the largest ten mainstream Christian churches in Minneapolis....

The random Instagram influencer walking into a phalanx of ICE agents surrounding Herr General Bongino outside of a Dollar General store is an instant classic. She rags him mercilessly about his 5'6" height and you can see the entire goon squad visibily tense up. Then one brave brownshirt breaks off to confront her and he is immediately squelched by her.

Department of Homelander Security proudly displayed a photo of DHS arresting Nekima Armstrong, one of the purported "ringleaders" of the ICE Church protest this past Sunday. The White House official tweet feed later reposted the arrest photo, but used AI to change the phdefiant black woman into a weeping sobbing black woman. JayDee also retweeted the AI version. The press contacted the White House press staff for comment, the staffer gleefully replied we done made a meme out of her! "Law enforcement will continue....and memes will continue."
