I grin, ruffling Moni’s hair lightly, tugging on it in warning when I hear her words and leaning forward to give her a kiss hello, nipping her lip.

Is a little hurt that TSB basically ignored her joke last night and then just left without even saying fairwell......Rayne knows she is new but that was just rude. With a new attitude to the Marine..( scheming rude man), Rayne brushes past him her head held high and takes the same seat on the soft chair like she did the night before.

"Hello Minx, its lovely to see you" Rayne flashes the friendly woman a big pleasant smile. "you look like the cat that got the cream, so glad you seem to be in a wonderful mood." Rayne continues to ignore TSB just as he did to her.

I hug Bs back, reclining into my chair once more. Happy to relax and leave the ‘debauchery’ as Bs so nicely puts it, for later.

I am at Marine Corps Base Camp Hansen here in Okinawa Japan,we just got back from Humanitarian assistance in Indonesia and are just waiting for orders to head back home.

Japan hey? You must definitely get to see a lot of the world. I muse, running a hand through my hair. I was almost tempted to join the Army with my nursing. I thought it would satisfy both my need to help people, adventure and see some of the world… But…

I smile slightly. I’m not patriotic in the least, and I have strong opinions about this ‘war on terror’. So I decided it was a bad idea. I might volunteer with the Red Cross though, giving medical support to those that can’t afford or can’t reach it. I saw a news documentry on the tv once about a volunteer group trying to access the wounded civilians in an area under attack, and they were getting shot at. Even when it was clear what they were and they had a white flag raised. For some reason that made me want to be there all the more.

Frowns slightly, but relaxes back into Bs's massage.

Yeah, I have been to I think like 17 or something countries now. My favorites would have to be Mainland Japan, Italy and of course Aussie <Flashes a handsome smile>

I like the red cross,they do good work but they get into way to much trouble. Just like you saw on that show,they get into stick situations a lot. We had a team with us in Iraq that got pinned down by the enemy. They got captured before we could push through the town and come get them. We eventually caught up with them and saved them( you wonder where I get my knight in shining armor complex)

They killed two of them though,both young women... I mean I am not to happy about this "war on terror" either but I will gladly fight these mother fuckers until there isn't a single one left. They killed one of my best friends, shot up my dad back in the gulf war and the way they treat people is just....there is no way to explain it. One we were on patrol in Afghanistan,we had one of the locals tell us where the taliban put a bunch of IED's for us. So in return for helping us,the Taliban went into the guys house at night and cut the arm of his 9 year old daughter as a warning.....its that kind of shit thats just not right.

Sighs sadly,thinking about it

Is it bad that the threat of danger attracts me as much as helping people? As much as I want to do it I don’t think I will though… Despite what lot of people think of me I’m too… sensitive to suffering. I know a lot of what I’d see I’d obsess over, and it’s impossible to save everyone. I’ve dealt with death before, but that’s just in the nursing homes I work in. Where sometimes the resident is in such a state it’s almost a relief when they die. To see needless and mindless killing… I don’t know what it would drive me to.

Am I such an idealist that I want to believe problems can be solved without mindless violence and the death of innocents? I don’t know, apparently everyone who has the power to make those choices thinks otherwise. Shakes my head, trying to clear the suddenly dark mood.
