Is it bad that the threat of danger attracts me as much as helping people? As much as I want to do it I don’t think I will though… Despite what lot of people think of me I’m too… sensitive to suffering. I know a lot of what I’d see I’d obsess over, and it’s impossible to save everyone. I’ve dealt with death before, but that’s just in the nursing homes I work in. Where sometimes the resident is in such a state it’s almost a relief when they die. To see needless and mindless killing… I don’t know what it would drive me to.

Am I such an idealist that I want to believe problems can be solved without mindless violence and the death of innocents? I don’t know, apparently everyone who has the power to make those choices thinks otherwise. Shakes my head, trying to clear the suddenly dark mood.

Alright, lets talk about something nicer! I smile slightly.

Its not bad if danger attracts you, I am the same exact way,why do you think I like you so much Winks roguishly but seriously,A lot of people think I am crazy and an adrenaline junkie with a death wish because I keep volunteering for Combat Tours and go out on a lot of patrols.

As for what it might drive you to, No one really knows until you see it. I know how you feel though,when we were in indonesia 2 months ago when they had that earthquake,I was leading patrols out to do search and rescue but not only that,the marines in my unit had to do a lot of grave digging...I mean I saw hundreds of dead bodies...its not the kind of thing you see on CNN but you have to just bury it deep down and keep on fighting

I also believe in a world where maybe all this might not be needed but right now its not about me: I don't fight for me. I fight for you,minx,b and Rayne. Every insurgent I kill just means one less person that will strap a bomb on his chest and try to kill you all.

Well TSB, you and me are a Yank to these three. But rember, depending where you're from you might be a Damnyankee to me. After all, 'Yankee' dosen't exist in the South. Though these days I'd rather be in Australia, less hassles when it comes to world relations. <I chuckle at the thought.>

Besides, given the way you're going I don't think numbers are going to matter. Not to mention I know that Minxy and Fae enjoy playing...with each other and me, I wouldn't want to make Rayne get involved with anything she wouldn't want to. <I let out a low chuckle as I listen to Rayne's words.>

Stands up, crosses smoothly across the room over to Rayne and pulls a crimson red rose out of no where, since he was shirtless and only wearing a olive drab green pair of sweats with an Eagle globe and anchor insignia imprinted on the left pant leg about the knee,his dog tags hanging from around his neck,it was obvious that it must have been real magic to make a rose appear,he bowed regally and then handed it to her

Now,so you can stop being mad at me,I will explain. Last night as I mentioned we had a big party and there was lots of people drinking. I cut out early so I could come back and visit Fae but the Marines under my charge stayed and got liquored up pretty good. Since they are my marines,I am in charge of their well being and safety,I had a marine try to pick a fight with the entire bar and I had to go deal with his stupidly drunk ass puking all over his room and trying to jump out of his window because he was so sad he wasn't with his family on T-day. Sadly I am probably the only marine here right now who doesn't have family he wants to see on T- Day but thats because my family is either dead or they serve in the marines to: the way we see it, we are doing are job and if we have to sacrifice our time together than it is worth it. My brother is in Iraq,my dad is in Afghanistan and I am here in Okinawa.

So thats why you all are my family today and that is why I kind of left you hanging last night because I got called away to deal with idiots
