Major: Public Relations and Marketing

Kappa Lambda Omega

Name:
Ivan Kopf
Role: Chapter President
Age: 22
Major: Business Administration
Drink: Tequila Body Shot
Nickname: Kopf-a-feel, Van Wildest, Mr. Steal-your-girl, Brother Superior

Relationship Status: Dating Lindsey Lane (Omega Sigma Beta)

Clout: Ivan is the poster child for white privilege. Born to a wealthy family with all the expectations and advantages that come along with it. He’s cheated on every girlfriend he’s ever had and has little to no respect for women in general. He was admitted to KLO as a legacy and is also a voting member of the secret society “Skull and Dagger.” He’s charming, popular and a lot of fun—even if he is an unapologetic asshole. He believes that empathy is a myth and social inequity is just an elaborate excuse that losers made up for not winning. He’s abundantly confident aside from not having much substance to him outside of the college social ecosystem. He could count the number of times he’s heard “no” on one hand. Fluctuates between narcissistic confidence and severe self-loathing.

Name: Lionel Collins
Role: Chapter VP and Pledge Captain
Age: 24
Major: Chemistry and Toxicology
Drink: Double-V, Vodka and Vicodin
Nickname: Mister Wizard, Candyman, Chem-Bro

Relationship Status: Playing the field.

Clout: Lionel isn’t born wealthy like most of his Kappa bros, but his knowledge of chemistry and chemical processes have allowed for him to gain popularity as a drug dealer among the Greeks and thereby join the most exclusive frat on campus. He’s a genius for drug making and will probably earn more than the inherited wealth of all his brothers combined when he graduates. The frat allows him to discreetly test new samples and experiments when necessary. His brothers are old hands at spiking undergrads’ drinks and they’re always looking for shortcut hangover cures or “study aides.” Content not to be the one in the spotlight, Lionel does most of the work to keep the frat together.

Pledge Class

Name:
Ken Lang
Role: Pledge
Age: 19
Major: Physics
Drink: Whiteclaw Lime
Nickname: Yet to be earned

Relationship Status: High School Sweethearts with Stacy Gates

Clout: Ken was selected for a prestigious scholarship to attend any university he wanted—Harvard, Yale, Princeton—any school would have been thrilled to have him. Yet, Ken wanted to go to school with his girlfriend Stacy, the Ivy Leagues be damned. So far into his college experience, Ken hadn’t found that his scholarship carried as much weight as he’d expected it to. Joining this… Greek club, or whatever, seemed the obvious move for a meritorious scholar such as himself to establish the kind of social currency that when combined with his peerless scholarship would amount to a Valedictorian’s sash.

((WIP))

Pick your poisons - I'm not as good as you at this 😂

New story:

The Blood Chain - with LoganDarkHolme

Wildmages are born in secret and hunted without mercy. Their power is too vast, too unpredictable, too feared. Mara has spent her life running - until she’s cornered in the alleys beneath Varyn Hold and her impossible silvery-blue glow gives her away.

Melric ValDrakken binds her in blood to save her from worse fates… and in doing so, binds himself to a wild magic he can hardly fathom and barely control. The Blood Chain marks Mara as his Font for life, a living battery of elemental power the world expects him to use, not protect.

But Mara refuses to obey, and Melric refuses to be cruel. Together, they stand against centuries of cruelty, law, and expectation while the Blood Chain coils tighter, blurring the line between power and desire, need and want. But when the pressure mounts, will Melric stand or fold? Will he have a choice?

In a kingdom where magic is currency and freedom is a myth, one wildmage may be the spark that burns the world to the ground.

Idea forming:

So I have run A Two Fanged Seduction before and I also ran A Prequel to A Two Fanged Seduction - both of which died.

But I'm still very much in love with the characters I created from them - namely, Caine and Nemesis. I would love the chance to rewrite their reunion story all over again without additional characters. I am thinking they meet by chance in a warehouse they're both raiding. Caine is concerned this government group is using some of his plans and technology (given his modern day businesses trade in weaponry and arms) and Nemesis is there to find one of her sired whom she believes has been abducted for experimentation.

Both Caine and Nemesis still fight very old world, they carry swords because who needs bullets when you move as fast as a bullet does? So perhaps in the dark, they draw swords on each other thinking the other is a guard.

Then they have to set their differences aside to fight their way out - which isn't easy given their very uneasy history.

Both were always written as historical figures. Most people guessed that Nemesis was Joan of Arc (the prequel removed all doubt) and I really enjoyed most of our fans trying to guess who Caine had to have been in his life. He was Alexander the Great. And this is the first time I ever said that on the boards but important part of how he is so stoic and calm - except where Nemesis is concerned anyway. They rarely use their real names and they're probably the only vampires alive who know the other one's real name anyway.

Essentially Caine respects Nemesis' for her mind, picking her brain for strategy alongside teaching her things when they initially met but he was never good at conveying his feelings so while Nemesis had a deep love for him, she never thought it was returned. So she will not easily claw that out of him either, nor will she admit her feelings for him because she fears they won't be reciprocated. She also hates him - this is the complicated part. Because him saving her from certain death meant she became forsaken by God in her eyes. She thinks he views her as his possession only - because that is how he has always treated her to some extent. She is not as strong as he is (as a vampire or a fighter) but she can hold her own well enough and they often sparred.

It would require a really good co writer because I want to write a relationship that pre exists the story. Might have more to add to this later but just mind plonking it here for now.

New Story:

The Pole and the Cold with LitShark

Twas the night before Christmas, up north at the Pole,
Not a creature was chaste - not a virtuous soul;
The stockings were hung with a wink and a dare,
In hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there.

The elves were all restless, all flushed in their beds;
With far naughier visions than danced in most heads.
And Minty in satin, and Nutmeg in lace,
Had settled their nerves for a long "hands-on" chase.

When out in the snow came a deep, thundered clatter,
A sound only Santa made when he took up the matter;
Minty leapt up, breath hitching with fright,
“Oh holly and mistletoe… he’s hunting tonight!”

The moon lit the snow like a stage built for sin,
And the sleigh sweeping by made her knees pull in;
Its cargo was humming with “goodies” unnamed,
And Minty just whispered, “Someone’s about to be tamed…”

Then Santa himself, towering, stern, and slick,
Looked far from the jolly old St. Nick;
His boots struck the rooftop with power and pride,
And Minty felt heat bloom from deep, deep inside.

He spoke not a word - just surveyed her pose,
Then claimed what he wanted with confident blows;
And laying a finger aside of his nose,
He vanished aloft as the warm embers rose;

But she heard him proclaim as he soared out of sight-
“Submit when I call… and be ready tonight!”

(I have no idea how Sharky talks me into this shit but this is my terrible god awful blurb to match our terribly naughty December story - *takes a deep bow*)

Merry Christmas - and may you never hear the Night Before Christmas the same way again! 😈

Strongly considering a revive and do over of this story - Escaping Animal State

Deevo did both characters so well, although I'd definitely be happy to share the weight of the NPCs around more this time for sure.
It was my version of Ladyhawke but Deevo definitely added his own flavour to it with Vincent and we bounced well off each other for a story we barely discussed lol!
I'm still thinking over the things I'd tweak and adjust really, would love to reroll it with the same basic idea and see what happens.
The character enacting the curse would still have to be dark and dominant, I definitely enjoyed that threatening aspect quite a bit.

The Blood Chain - Notes:

🔥 Fire Mages - obviously produce fire, usually join the Armies of the Concord as they're valuable weaponry.

💧Water Mages - Create frost and water, very helpful for seafaring, useful in the Armies of the Concord. They're often calmer and make good diplomats.

💨 Air Mages - Can create storms or quell them, control air speed and if they have enough power then they can spark lightning (the more power, the more bursts). Good for transportation as they can make ships fly, only the most powerful Air Mages generally join the Armies of Concord for their ability to throw lightning. Usually, they need the most Fonts.

🗡 Metal Mages - the weaponsmiths and engineers, they create magnetic and metallic objects alike.

☀️ Light Mages - Interrogators and spiritual magic. They purify and protect with their magics, they can get to the truth of things. They're very coveted by High Priests who believe their magic is the personification of religion.

⚫️ Shadow Mages - feared generally speaking for their ability to wield shadows and plunge the world into darkness. They can distort the senses and conceal things. They excel at assassination and espionage.

🩸 Blood Mages - These are the healers. They can regenerate bone and restore a heartbeat, mend wounds and knit flesh. They're revered and respected thus Blood Fonts are highly coveted and protected.

🌎 Earth Mages - the defenders and builders. These Mages shape stone, they build the fortresses and cities.

~II~
Midwives test for Mage or Font at birth with a 'flare rune' - if the stone pulls toward the child, they're a mage. If the stone pulls away - they're a font. And if the stone doesn't react - they're human. A Hybrid Font will cause a flare rune to fracture - a giant crack will appear in it. A Wildmage will cause it to explode.

A Font or a Mage?

A Font is generally born with an essence fracture which causes their magic to constantly leak outwards meaning they generate magic endlessly but cannot control its direction. Their power responds to emotion not will. They burn out and die faster without a Master. Their very presence affects their environment.

They are fountains - their power flows out always.

Wildmages are an exception to this rule - no one really cares if their essence is fractured because they fear what such a powerful mage could do if they were completely in control of their powers and fully trained. I think we will insert a legendary dictator type story of when a wildmage was trained and went mad, killing hundreds of thousands of their own citizens to really sell this.

A Mage is an Essence Vessel, they're a Container. They can fully control their power, it never leaks from them.

The bloodlines diverged violently due to a number of things over the centuries:
- Magical accidents
- Selective breeding
- Curse contamination
- Exposure to wild essence
- Deliberate manipulation by Sanguis Cults (Blood mages playing at Science).

~II~
The Fonts:

♾️ Wildmages (Mara): Are feared for their ability to do all of the elements which is why they're never trained. They're often used as awful bedtime boogeymen in children's stories. They're usually taken for Fonts as children because they're easier to control when young but they're so rare that many believe they don't exist at all. They have enormous output, are incredibly unstable, can level villages when they're upset and are generally considered to be living catastrophes. They can power Kingdom level spells, war engines and amplify mage abilities drastically.

🩸 Lowborn Fonts (Drips): These are the weakest type of Font, they have low output and often die sickly as children. They have the most essence fractures so their power leaks from them exceedingly the longer they live. Binding them younger keeps these kinds of Fonts from death. They're often used as training tools for studying Mages, they're treated the worst of all the Fonts because of their low power output.

🔥 Elemental Fonts (most common type of Font): Moderate, steady power output. Confined to a single element. Easily drained and survive long time use. They can power complex spells and support mages in combat. They're kept as household property as workhorse Fonts.

⚡️ Hybrid Fonts (rare): These are linked to two elements. They're stronger than Elemental Fonts and more difficult to control. They're very valuable and used in Fortresses and war, generally only found in elite mage houses.

~II~
Most powerful mages keep:

2–5 fonts (standard)

6–10 fonts (wealthy war-mages)

20+ fonts (archmages, guildmasters, and warlords)

The Blood Chain Ritual:

The mage cuts their palm and the font must do the same (or have it done to them), both join hands. The Mage speaks the incantation: "Vinculum sanguinis invoco. Corpus et anima: liga mihi. Tibi praesidium."
The glowing strands twist into liquid filaments that rise and curl up the Font's arms like vines, travel across the shoulders and chest and form a ghostly thorn-like lattice around the ribs.
On the mage, they're more refined into a single band encircling the forearm like a bracer.

Finally, on the Font they look like chains made of moon fire but they don't remain solid, they sink into the skin like an ink. Only three bands of chains remain on each bicep and the throat. The rest vanish but glow whenever their power is being actively drained by the Mage. So the ribs and shoulders will all glow when the Font is drained.
The anchor band on the Mage remains solid, thin around the wrist - the colour matching their element and glows only when they drain their Font. It signifies the connection between them at all times so a Font is identifiable to any other Mage and a Mage always has an everlasting connection to their Font no matter how far apart they are (though the closer they are physically, the stronger the connection).

The Chain on the Font mirrors their own element. On Mara, it'd be silvery blue because she has no single element.
The markings mean the connection only works one way - the Font cannot drain the Mage.
The Mage can draw too much from a Font and force them to collapse so nourishing their Font is encouraged. They cannot keep them physically weak.
The Blood Chain is designed to be intimate and violating. The Mage's presence feels like a gravitational pull to the Font, encouraging them to stay closer. It allows the Mage to anticipate their Font somewhat emotionally and mentally. They can essentially punish thought crime if they're so inclined.
The Blood Chain is painful for the Font because something is being stolen so they often scream during the ritual.
The Blood Chain is for life. It's eternal. It cannot be broken by anything other than death so though free Fonts are on the market, a bound Font is enslaved until they die or the Mage does.
This encourages the Mage to protect the life of their Font. They cannot draw on a dead thing.

Thus a Mage cannot bind what is already bound. Trying to give away or sell a Font would be akin to severing your own artery, they become a part of you which makes having one a massive responsibility also. The death of the Font causes the Mage permanent magical damage (undetermined form - we can decide later if we need to introduce this information) and the death of the Mage can collapse and even kill the Font - which is why Fonts don't try to kill their Mages unless they're prepared for potentially catastrophic consequences.

A Mage can have as many Fonts as they can provide for - richer Mages can buy and afford to house more Fonts than poorer Mages. Some Mages choose not to have a Font at all because they find the entire idea distasteful. However, having a Font is a status symbol. It says the Mage is powerful and in control. It elevates them.
Each Font has their own band around the Mage's wrist so anyone can identify how many Fonts a Mage has based on the bands on their forearm.

The Font Registry building is called The Concord Annex.

Registration of a Font is mandatory. It officially legalises the bond of the Blood Chain and gives the Mage a registration number. The Font is given an identification card - this serves to tell everyone who is responsible for them and allows them to freely serve their Mage unencumbered as the Mage sees fit. The Mage is responsible for their medical costs and any legalities associated with them. The Blood Chain is tested during registration for authenticity and the Font's elemental status is recorded.

The Arcane Watch resides in every major city serving as a police force for Mages.
The City Watch serves that function for the human population.
They serve a different role to the Wardens of the Concord (Chainwardens) who enforce a broader type of federal law and track down dangerous rogue unbound Fonts and Wildmages. They directly serve the Council of the Concord and are headquartered in Elaris Prime.
