Movies

What a great article! Starship troopers shower scene, that joint mom and dad smoked in Poltergeist... Things really were better back in the day.
Excellent article, though I quibble with a couple points:
"Capefans’ demands for more “mature” superhero movies always mean more graphic violence, not more sex." Really? Or is that just what they get from a movie industry terrified of having an R rating forced on a PG-13 film by censors terrified of sex?

(Out of interest, is anyone lobbying for a rating in between PG13 and R? We have 18, 15, and now 12/12A as well as PG, with 15 generally allowing swearing and consensual sex and movie violence, but rape and graphic violence are 18)

And "I defy you to find a mainstream film with a moment as horny and gay as the Sexy Saxophone Solo from The Lost Boys." Sexy, for sure. Gay? I think that scene was an equal-opportunities horn-fest. Gay was David seducing Michael into drinking his blood etc...

We do seem to have an epidemic of anxious youth scared to interact with others. In case they end up looking stupid on social media and their gaffes follow them for evermore. Hopefully we'll get to the point where so many people have a stupid past that could be dug up, that people will stop caring, but I'm not sure how to get there.

The content on Ao3 and PornHub certainly suggests that there's no shortage of demand for superheroes fucking.

That's the point; it can't be toned down. The movies must faithfully replicate the stories, and that means being more explicit than anything one would see on any of those networks. That's what's missing.
Have you ever seen Sexlife? They could do it just like that. Very erotic series.
