Musketeer Immortal (closed)

Yes back to the Inn.

She smiled.

I want to start reading these and see what I can learn.

Porthos smiled at her

"You want to learn even more, they say that learned women can be scary creatures. Should I start to fear you?"

He gave her a wide grin and slid an arm around her, together they started to make their way back to the Inn

Why would you fear me? Your immortality I can not affect with what I do. Mind and body he's I can help but that is all. Is that frightening to you? That I could make it where wine tasted foul to you no matter how perfect it is?

She teased back as they walked. Glad to be back home once they arrived.

He grinned

"Of course yes, if you can me hate my drink, then what is there else to lead me from the straight and narrow path?"

He playfully nudged her with his elbow

"Even you can not be that cruel a woman, just don't make the suggestion to Celeste, even though she knows the drink does not affect or harm me, she still likes to take away that little pleasure."

She laughed walking with him.

Fine I will be nice no making you hate your drink... For now.

"And no making me hate women, I do have a fondness for a certain lady and taking that away will be even worse for me than taking away my drink."

He gave her a mock-glare

She raised a brow watching him for a moment with that expression.

So many requests of what not to do. So picky.

She smirked as they walked in.

He grinned

"Oh I know that you are a kind-hearted woman, one who will not do things like that to me."

He held the door for her as she entered, following her into the kitchen

She handed the herbs and things to Celeste explaining how to use the ones from Marie's shop and then hurrying her treasures from Marie's shop to her room.

Porthos carried the rest of the herbs after her as she rushed to her room, following her inside.

"Before you get lost in those pages, can I just leave these on the table for you?"

He motioned to the packets of herbs

Nodding she pulled him into her room and smiled.

Yes yes that's fine.

She hugged him right feeling happy and safe and loving his company even more.

He hugged her close to himself, holding her for a few moments before setting the packets down on the table.

"Our plan should start in a few hours. Want me to keep you company?"

Yes and perhaps there is something in here that can help too.

She smiled motioning to the chair as she sat everything out and began looking. Sorting out each piece she looked over them all briefly.

The scrolls will not help and the book is in the old tongue it will take time.

He took a seat in the comfortable chair, looking at her as she studied through the scrolls and book, finally setting the scrolls aside.

"Take your time, if time runs out, we go with our original plan. Since he is mortal still, we will stand a chance against him.

We can follow the current plan that is fine I just really wanted to see what all you and Marie were able to rescue from those collectors.

She smiled to him.

So far there are recipes both magical and mundane as well as things to make as gifts to help the ill and... Other.

She fell silent studying deeply for a moment.

He watched her as she concentrated on the book, he wondered if she knew that her lips slightly moved when she read.
He didn't wish to interrupt her, he felt that the contents of the book were special and important to her. So he sat in mutual silence and watched her.
For some reason, she was quite a sight for him to behold and he enjoyed looking and it did not take long for him to fall asleep in the chair.

Closing the book she looked over and smiled moving to kiss his cheek as Athos knocked.

He woke with a start when Athos knocked on the door, waking up to her smell and the lingering feel of her kiss on his cheek.
He smiled at her and got up out of the chair, moving to open the door.

"It is time?"

Athos nodded but the sounds of one of the sisters roaring about killing the vermin herself after what Marie has told her was dining through the kitchen and stairwell. Followed by Celeste and her sister trying to calm her.

Apparently, one of the sisters has magical ties and spoke with Marie to see what else she could do to help. We have a plan B provided her sister does not have to sedate her the hard way.

Porthos looked from the woman to Katarina to Athos

"Is there something that I should know about? A back up plan?"

He rubbed the back of his neck

"I wasn't asleep that long, was I?"

No there is no need for one just one of the sisters wants to end him herself. Marie must have read quite a bit from Catalina.

Athos calmed his brother as Aramis walked down stairs to deal with the situation.

Well then lets go.

Catalina nodded to Athos and Porthos.

Porthos thought about it

"You do know that they will make a perfect distraction to get us into the grounds and house?"

He sighed, "But then again, she might get a bit too excited"

The sisters will be nearby but will not intervene unless called to get Catalina away from that house if the fight becomes too dangerous for her to be near.

Athos reassured his brother.

He is mortal none going against him have that disadvantage.

Celeste smiled walking up behind Athos wanting to check on the young lady.

Do not let him lay a single finger on her or you will all have cast iron to answer to is that clear my boys?

Porthos smiled grimly

"He has much to answer for little mother, he will pay for his sins and the sins he had planned to commit. I will make very sure that he does not harm her in any way."

He retired to his room to make ready

Celeste smiled at him patting his arm as he passed before looking to Athos with a cautionary be calm before she walked away.

So... Did you know? Is that why you took the books and scrolls?

They looked familiar but no.

She shook her head.

Before you ask no I did not know until after the unborn was lost. Say nothing to him, please. That is why the feline wishes to kill him herself, isn't it?

Athos nodded.

She has known the same loss. You can reveal that when you are ready.

Without another word, he turns to go downstairs letting her finish preparing.
