Musketeer Immortal (closed)

She smiled walking with him.

A tough look? What do you mean? And yes I would love to see Celeste again.

He held his arm for her to hook in with him and he rested his hand upon her own

"It makes you look like you have braved the void and even though you suffered some, you came out stronger on the other side."

She smiled at his words never really having thought of it that way.

Perhaps... Yes I like that outlook on them.

"I can also say that they make you look even more beautiful, that your beauty radiates from inside."

They walked along the street

"You have found out what Deimos' end game is?"

He seeks to destroy those who voted against him in how the various powers we're redistributed. He seeks power that few wish him to have.

She shrugged.

Very primary votes within their order within each country voted against him for their respective countries. With their deaths powers will again shift and he feels they will offer him power then especially when he can "cure" what is destroying his brethren.

"And I get the feeling that this cure will not bode well for those not of his brethren. I can understand why Aramis is so distraught."

He smiled as he looked at her where she walked next to him

Damon's is mortal. His brethren are little more than a Europe wide pack of jackals. This cure is literally me ending my magic before others are mysteriously infected. Your brother Aramis is worried that his immortality might frighten me. Athos says he is an over worrisome fool as I was born to the lands that wild tales of the vampire far longer than any other nation.

She shrugged.

Porthos scoffed.

"They are both fools. One seeking answers in religion and finding immortality, the other seduced by a blood sucker and turned. But then again, are not all men fools for their passions? Mine being a woman of your stature."

Perhaps how did the old lady at the flower stand put it. Your brothers seek to try their hand at matchmakers.

She smiled to him.

Well where should we go?

He paused at the door, "We can enter and go to my room, or if you are hungry or thirsty we can go to the kitchen."

He chuckled softly, "Matchmakers, while they struggle to find their own peace."

Why would we go to your room?

She tensed a little out of overly programed fear but still held his arm divided between fear and trust. Seeing the young womans discomfort as she opened the door Celeste smiled.

Perfect timing... The duck is ready and I do hope you liked that chocolate bread Katerina I have made a few loaves once more.

"To show you the brandy I keep for very special occasions with very special people. Why else."

He tilted his head slightly as Celeste opened the door, curious as to what she did so close to it, since she usually waited by the fire place for his return or news of his demise. He chuckled and with a sweeping bow, presented the open door to Katerina.

"The kitchen awaits us. You will love the duck."

A well cloaked figure and and old friend say at the table.

Yes the duck is very good... Especially when so freshly hunted. Katerina... Brother...

Athos smiled nodding to them. The well cloaked figure spoke as well.

An honor to finally meet you Katerina... Perhaps as the evening progresses...

She smiled When the sun departs I may finally be able to see the face of the brother they call Aramis. Do not worry I understand what you are and hold no fear. I grew up with tales of those like you. It is an honor to meet one still so Noble and caring.

Porthos placed his hands on his hips.

"So I go out to fulfill your request and here you sit, drinking my wine, telling Celeste my secrets and most likely costing me money."

Athos chuckled and got to his feet

"Same old Porthos, thinks about food and wine while there is a lovely women with him."

Porthos grinned and took a few steps forward, embracing his brother in arms.

"You old scoundral! It is good to see you and to have you back here."

He turned from Athos to Aramis and drew him from the chair into a bearhug, "Same goes for you mon ami!"

She smiled with Celeste watching the reunion and shaking hands with both Athos and Aramis.

The duck smells amazing let us enjoy sitting together and a little happiness.

"And since the two of you are here, a toast is in order."

He showed Katerine to a seat and disappeared into his room, returning with a bottle with a dark amber fluid in it. Athos arched an eyebrow, "You still have that poison?"

Porthos laughed and plopped into the seat next to Katerine, "It is for special occasions! My brothers and a fine guest under our roof, it is such an occasion."

He poured a single measure into the cups and carefully set the bottle aside, he lifted his glass

Salut!

She lifted the glass and smiled watching them each take their drink.

Aramis smirked.

I smell a scared angry little rabbit in town. Don't worry Katerina... He won't come here. Not when the sisters hunt.

His face now seen as he smiled. The sisters an identical twin pair of wolves who viewed Celeste and her wards as family and no doubt Celeste had already told about Katerina.

They won't kill him... Yet... Your salvation falls to your hands or ours but they will keep him away from here.

Celeste simply smirked at being accused of speaking with the sisters and placed the food on the table for everyone.

All I have done is prepare a room for our guest should she require one.

"Oh Celeste, you tattle tale. Not only did you tell them that I have called the bodyguard a rabbit, you also have told the little wolves that he would have no protection, should he venture out in anger to find our lovely flower."

He licked his lips and eyed the bottle, but also knew that he could not drink more of it, so instead he filled his cup with wine and sat down.

"So you two scoundrels, what have you been up to?"

Celeste just smiled.

It is not my fault if they did not like hearing about his lack of manners and compassion.

With that she hobbled over to the hearth to tend to the duck and the other food. Aramis nodded.

I have found a few kindred beings. Priests and monks who also found themselves on the business end of a pearly pair of fangs. They have shown me how even with our curse we can still do good.

Athos simply shrugged.

Surviving and reminding myself there is still some good in this world to believe in. Good friends and family...

As he gestured to Celeste and Katerina and his brothers

Porthos raised his cup

"I'll drink to that."

Aramis scoffed

"You'll drink anyway."

Porthos grinned, "Hear hear."

They laughed as Porthos took a sip of his wine

She listened to them all smiling feeling safe and watched Porthos feeling safest with him. Once the night was fully around them Aramis removed the cloak and bowed to her.

Katerina... An honor to finally meet you... Officially.

Porthos studied Aramis as he removed his cloak. He chuckled as Aramis introduced himself.

"Suave one. Gotta be careful of him, he loves graceful necks."

He gave Aramis an impish smile and saluted him with his cup

Aramis chuckled with a nod to his brother and a saluted drink. Katerina smiled as well.

Pleasure to meet you officially as well. You did follow me some in London when the skies allowed it and I did feel safer for it.

She smiled at his wrinkled brow.

Well beyond Athos confirming it I could sense a presence. Entertaining that the baffoon Porthos has dealt with could sense nothing.

She laughed a little feeling safer and perhaps a little stronger in her own life in that moment.

Porthos shrugged, "Just because we play the game, it doesn't mean that we grow extra talents. Your guard was a bully and a braggart and he died as such."

He shivered as he remembered the release of the Quickening, "So esteemed brothers, you came with a plan I hope. It will not take long for woman torturer to realize that his hound has fallen."

Athos nodded.

Tonight we rest and Katerina tells us the floor plan of the house as well as any weapons he may have lurking about. She will be safe here tonight. However as unfortunate as it may be she may have to return to him... Temporarily... Till we can expose and end him.

He watched Portos reaction more than hers at the information he just imparted. He suspected that Porthos would want to kill him. He knew the look in his brothers eyes when he looked at Katerina.
