Actually a "fatwa" is simply an indictement to stop whatever action the fatwa was called against. Not all fatwas are negative by western standards, I have heard of local imams (in Canada) calling fatwas against retribution and other acts of violence.

I disagree with you too. Speaking as a Jew, I am quite confident of my own heritage. My family is Ashkenazi Jewish, and for centuries we were Jewish by religion too. But the line of religious Jews stopped with my mother. I am not Jewish by religion, but I am Jewish by race. By culture, by heritage, I am Jewish. As I mentioned above, I am not Polish or Russian or Ukrainian. My family history says that we are from the area that is now Poland, although it was Russia at the time. But I am not Russian or Polish.
