I'm sure they weren't lying, but that doesn't mean they're correct, either. They were giving their own interpretation of the Qur'an. Perhaps we should ask an imam, since I don't think Muhammad is around anymore. But whoever told you was only telling you what they think the Qur'an says...not necessarily what Muslims actually believe.

Sorry bro but whoever told you that is flat out mistaken. I ain't uptight about my religion, and I'm very open minded about criticism leveled at it, but I do like point out things that I know for a fact are flat out wrong, and this is flat out wrong. Anyway I don't want to start a debate over it, just wanted to clear that up.
