My beer adventure...

That pic is pretty much the only way beer is consumed by me aside from a few sips during camping trips or such. I keep a 12 of "cracked canoe" in the fridge for guy friends but I typically just use beer for cooking.

I've patched my cracked canoes with epoxy.

I am going to the beer fest tomorrow. Will be a good time tasting a variety of stuff.

That'd be hard to drink I imagine.

I understand the appeal in the hunt for a great new taste in the microbreweries, my s/o has invested in a few that have taken off quite well, but I just can't stomach the stuff. It makes me feel all sloshy and overfull.

Have fun though! :)

To each, their own!

I will.

I picked one of these up yesterday. It's a white ale with apples, orange peels, ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, and coriander.

I have the one flavored with pear in my cellar. I might drink it this weekend.

Old Rasputin Russian Imperial Stout in my glass. It's a delicious evening.

I have been more a wine and spirits guy for the last few years, but the last 6 months have been drawn back to a beer now and again. It is the Pale Ales that are now coming to the fore in NZ again. A variety of names, but the India Pale Ales, quite a nice drop over summer.

Back in the early eighties, the renaissance in beer started with Macs Brewery and continues today with the founders children running Stokes. I was at the opening of the Macs brewery way back then.

"Midnight Sun actually calls its Sloth a "Belgian-style" imperial stout — but don't get any ideas that this beer is dainty or delicate. It's a balls-to-the-wall, dark-as-hell stout that pours as slowly as its name would imply. And although it boasts 10.2-percent ABV, this big, rich ale is tied together by the subtle, earthy notes of the Belgian yeast used to brew it."

It is good.....

The blueberry one was in this month's beer club. I'll try it after the smoke clears out.

I had the apple one pictured a few weeks back. It was delicious for a fruity beer which I'm rather picky about. But taste vary so I can't promise you anything, but if you're a fan of ciders and fruity beers you'll prob love this one.

More on the traditional side I've made this one of my more common treats lately.

It's not the cheapest beer but it's imo one deff worth trying if you haven't.

Oh gawd it's so good, I've talked myself into another one.....here we go Monday

The End of the World!

I have had this on tap in Quebec City as well as from the bottle, at home.

I'm not a real fan of fruity beers. But, my beer of the month club membership keeps me trying new things.
