He was an amazing man. He loved his wife and his children and grand children. He made many friends.

My dad loved art, music, nature, expressive written words, animals and more.

He was truly a renaissance man! And I get my love of life truthfully from him. I'm currently in Fla and we will have a celebration of his life today by the ocean.

I have written a poem for him and will turn it in for posting today. I hope all of you will go to the poetry section and read it. It's titled

My daddy, my dad, my friend.

Thank you for being here and reading my post!

I'm sorry for your loss. If it's any consolation, you'll probably find a part of him inside you, wherever you go.

It won't make up for the hurt you feel, but the hurt will fade over time. But the warmth of his love will always be with you.

It's hard for me to even think of losing my dad! I can imagine what you're going through is the toughest! :(
xox All the best in the coming days and weeks, and whenever you feel like just talking i'm sure there'll be a ton of people here, and in life, that will help you get through!
:rose::heart::kiss:

So sorry for your loss! I will keep you and your family in my prayers today.

RIP proud daddy

My thoughts and prayers to you, recently lost my Mom, so I know how you're feeling.

I'm so sorry to read of your loss. Your tribute to your Dad is very touching. As a father I can only ask that I be as successful as yours in winning my children's love and affection. Know my thoughts are with you.

Thinking of You

Your tribute to your Dad is beautiful Kitten. So many here have said what should be said. May peace continue to grow within you.

well said Keep_Us_Secret

I also wanted to express my condolences Dreamy...
having lost my parents suddenly I know how hard this must be but I've been comforting in seeing my parent's memory reflected in my life & that of my children.
Your dad lives on in you & in his grandchildren.

Thank you to all for heart felt well wishes

It feels so nice to have you all here to share with in times of happiness or sorrow. Today my family and I will celebrate his life. He was a great father an amazing grandfather and a good husband. But really he was a good person he enjoyed life to the fullest and encouraged me and my siblings to do that as well! I will never forget what he taught me! I carry his love with me always!

In recent years i have had family members die, and just earlier this year a family friend at the age of 30 died tragically. It's always sad, it's tough....but like you said, those lives have to be celebrated.

I'm sorry for your loss. :rose:

You never choose your parents and as i write this post I can only say very few people understand the meaning of the phrase 'lost a dear one' unless you really loose someone..

So thats two paradigm's you do not choose who will be your dad but you cry for him when you loose him..and I believe that is life..and he was surely instrumental in showing and shaping into who you are in his way..

May his soul rest in peace and i am sure he will be happy and proud of who you are dreamykitten..

take care and be strong :)

I'm so sorry about your father. I do not believe we've ever spoken and that this has to be the first time your hear from me. :(

We had the service at the water!

We let 3 balloons go symbolizing his 3 children his 2 grand kids and his wife. Read a poem from Kahil Gibran " your children are not your children" read a poem I wrote" my daddy, my dad, my friend" and my sister wrote a poem too. And we read that as well. And we sang "Rise and shine" he would sing this to all of us when he woke is up in the morning. And it was sunset at the same time. It was a beautiful service and he would of loved it!
