My darn inbox is always full !

I don't want to delete stuff. I like to keep history. I've had some great conversations with people in PMs. How do you manage your inboxes ?

I keep everything until it gets full; then I delete. Selectively at first, if I'm not chatting much, but eventually everything goes; 150 messages is really not very many. You could print out some of the gems you want to save or cut and paste into another file before you delete.

Create another email address for your history on hotmail or yahoo or some free site and foward the old one to youself.

I used to save every single one, but now I pretty much delete as I go, unless they contain info I want to keep. A lot of mine are only one or two sentences.

But awhile back, in a fit of anger, I deleted a whole bunch of them, and I regret it very much.

if you wanna hang on to 'em, just copy & paste into something else, like a word processing document.

edit: it doesn't look like that is possible ? Am I missing something ? One can download them though.

I think that idea was for email; not PMs

You can't forward PMs. You'll have to cut and paste it to another document.

I tried downloading some of mine. It didn't work. They downloaded but when I went I opened them they were unreadable.

What did you download them as?
I just download as text and they come out alright.

You download them as web pages. I like to do as Silverwhisper suggested and copy and paste them into documents. I still have a full conversation and don't have to go thru a bunch of pages to read it. Saves time and space.

I tried downloading them in all 3 formats before and I thought they had all come out unreadable. I just tried "text" again and this time I can read them. (I guess I must have done something wrong last time I tried) It's really hard to follow conversations though ..to figure out who said what in the conversation.

I've also tried copy/pasting some of them to a word doc but it takes me forever to copy paste them.

Why?

99% of the time required to C&P to a Word Document should be consumed by opening the next message to copy.

With just the PM window and Word Open, it takes about three seconds to C&P:

Open PM a PM

Press CTRL-A, CTRL-C, Shift-TAB, CTRL-V and Shift-TAB

Open the next PM and repeat until your Word File gets too big.

It only takes a second or two longer to select only the text:

Highlight the first character, hit END, hold downthe shift key and click the last character. Then use CTRL-C Shift-TAB, CTRL-V to paste into Word.
