my favorite thing about winter...

My favorite thing about winter...

Crap!

Um, the cats get more loverly. LOL.

The sky often looks brighter even though it's cold as heck out there!

My husband loves the temps.

It makes it nicer to turn back over and go back to blessed sleep on those luscious mornings I can sleep in.

Snuggling with my kids while we talk or watch some TV is fun.

Making hot chocolate is always good or roasting marshmallows, smores or whatever.

Okay I'm not that into winter but I'm trying here!

More night for me to play . . .

I liked warm weather until I was pregnant in the hot, humid Hawaiian summer with no a/c (almost none of the houses here have a/c and alot of appartments have it in the lease agreement that you can't put any a/c things in the unit) Yeah, so winter started looking really good for a while....now I just want snow. It doesn't feel like Christmas here. It feels like it's July with alot of bums that just refuse to take down their decorations....Ya'll could box up some snow and ship it my way. I'll bake cookies for ya! :rose:

Big jumpers I can disappear into

Lots of pairs of socks

Radiators

A good book

Feeling my face tingle with the cold

Cold kisses that warm you inside

Snow clinging onto roof tops

I WANT SNOW!!!!!
But what do we get? Icky cold rain. It's gray (when there's light), it's wet, it's just not my time of the year!
I'm sick of needing so long to get myself into enough clothes to go outside (boots, coat, scarf, gloves...). It takes forever.

BOOTS!!!!!!!
That and red lipstick ;)
It doesn't have to be winter to wear boots, does it?

Actually, I hate winter. It gets cold and snows and sometimes there's ice. The heating bills are costly and driving is hasardous. I don't have a garage, so my doors freeze shut and I can't get them open. The car I have right now is such a crappy one for that...the door wrap around the roof, so it's even more likely that will heppen. Scooping snow is hard on my back and don't forget the cold and flu bugs that thrive during the winter months. I don't like when others share their sneezes and coughs, either!

I'd love to have it be about 40 degrees all winter long, if it has to be a little cold. I don't mind snow is it melts on the sidewalks and streets. There would be nothing to scoop, nothing to drive through, and with the temps above freezing, the colds and flu bugs would be lighter. And, my heating bills would be less, too.

I hate temps that get down around zero and stay there. Oh, I can see how boots would be great duing all of this snow and crap, but I don't see a problem with boots in the other seasons of the year. Well, maybe summer is too hot?

OK, don't mind me. After the first of the year, I'll be all better again...promise. Well, maybe.

A look? Is that a 'be good' look, or a 'i sneezed in your chocolate' look?

Ok so this is what is looks like on the street after 41cm of snow. (I hope the picture makes it :) )

Kajira and Miss Diva, the snow pictures were very beautiful! Thank you. Now for all of ya feelin the winter blues I've got the ingredients for margaritas. Any body want one?

Winter finally arrived yesterday. While not bringing any snow, the thermometer dipped below -6C for a daytime high. I ran to the store to get some cranberry ginger ale for the drinking last night and it was quite beautiful - a nice thick river mist hung around making everything nice and blurry and seem pristine. Quite nice to walk in as the air was still (quite necessary for a good river mist like last night) and just simply awesome to take in. The river mist has since left and now I face the drear as the thermometer continues its march downward.

I have never seen snow since I left Saskatchewan back in 91 - when I was wee 6 year old.
