from observation it seems to me that Daddy Doms are far more common in america than anywhere else.

I think cultures can lean in certain directions.

Having lived in Japan for a number of years and seeing thier culture it's easy to see how submissive and subservient women are there. At the same time they have a major reputation of "topping from the bottom" too.

visiting Oz, I'd say that the men there are in general more dominant than men in the US, but I don't think I'd say that the women are any more or less submissive.

As for inside the actual BDSM scenes, I couldn't say. I only went to one fetish club in Sydney and nothing like that in Japan.

Maybe you were not informed well when you were in Japan.

Actually all classical housewives in Japan appear to be obedient, but that is only a matter of formalism and has nothing to do with reality. This fact appears to be absolutely irrelevant.
