At least one-fourth of me is wishing something would happen already. There's a fair probability that all this waiting will amount to nothing. Is this all just a waste of time? I hesitate to hypothesize.

If I approach you by closing half the distance between us on each move scientists would say I'll never reach you. But I'm an engineer. I'll soon be close enough for all practical purposes.

Nothing as cheesy as above, but my lady friend and I bonded on a phone call over the frustrations we have with co-workers using Excel improperly. It's so rare that someone gets Excel as well as I do, so the fact that we adore each other and adore THAT about each other is quite nerdy... but very sweet at the same time.
