Need help with dilemma

Here is the story: My family has a helper in the house who is in her mid 30's and is a single mother. She also happens to be our distant cousin. I am in my mid 20's, and find her very attractive. I am certain that she did not have a proper sex partner in a while. It is also worth mentioning that we live in a small town (roughly 10,000 people), and as a small community, everyone knows about everything.

What do you think people? Should I approach her and try anything? How could I do this? Of course, I am thinking strictly sexual relationship. The problem could be if I ask and she rejects me and then talks about it, that would be very bad. Also, I do not want to insult her or shock her as we are cousins after all, and she is, in some way, part of the family.

This is a confusing one. Although I am pretty sure that she would be interested in some sort of sexual relationship, how could I do this without risking some major screw up?

I guess saying that people used to marry 2-3rd cousins all the time even into the late 1800's isn't gonna help any.

hmmm...sounds like a touchy subject. maybe you could hammer her with compliments? tell her how nice she looks make lots of eye contact, stuff you'd usually do without coming out and being direct with words. That way if she calls you out to the family then you can be like what the heck are you talking, effectiveally spin control. It sounds like the direct route might not be effective.

I'm curious what you other hornballs suggest to be honest.

Personal opinion - this is not a good idea for a fling! You said it yourself - you live in a small town and everyone knows everyone.

If you fall in love with each other, have a real relationship, it's not an issue...if you're using each other for sex - and things go wrong...disaster! Your family will look at you both in a different way and she could loose her job and place to live. Plus I am thinking of her being a single mother in a small town. Being a single mother doesn't make her a slut, so don't treat her like one.

1. An employee of your household with drastically different life experience from you.
2. Small town 'mentality' where everyone knows everyone and everyone's business.
3. An employee of your household who happens to be your distant cousin, therefore you ARE related.
