I've never believed in the whole, "when you stop looking for love, it finds you" thing. For starters, I can speak from experience. It's also just really stupid.

Eh, I just try to meet interesting people, not specificially dates, just friends, and I end up dating some of them, and the others end up being cool people--sexual attraction usually works better for me growing from something

Eh. My friends usually stay that way. Plus, then you get into the weird "do I potentially make the friendship really awkward by trying to make a move" thing.

Yes I probably will end up one of those, but no that's a horrible nickname, bad connotations and all that.

Ever is a long time. Just say you're taking a long vacation. It sounds more relaxing and it can be more reflective. You'll come back to dating at some point down the line, we all do, no matter what shit happens in our lives.

I think it's more a matter of not trying to find a date, and just being your self.
Something like that.
 
I have to agree about the "when you stop looking for love..", not dates completely, just love.. When you're out specifically looking for love, it affects you, generally in a negative way (most people just look desperate).. but when you stop that and just enjoy being yourself, going on dates and just being laid back.. it generally happens.

Anyways.. Vess, why give up on dating?

Because of the general lack of people who are capable of being honest or people who just like to play games. Every attempt leaves me drained. I don't have anything left to give.

I have no real advice to give you on dating beyond...

If you don't feel like dating right now then don't.

You'll figure it out when you're ready and have the energy to do it. Until then do something else :)

I'm watching BBall and will watch hockey in a bit. I am eagerly awaiting Heroes tonight. Finally the cheerleader will be saved.

beyond that I am fuming over an email I got today canceling my statue order ebcause they didn't actually have the item they were selling. :rolleyes:

I cannot reveal what the statue is. It's my christmas gift, or was. :cool:

I think Heroes is a very good show. I can't tell you how good it is compared to other shows this season because I haven't seen any other shows
