Yeah...that's what I said....

Yeah, that's my 2nd job, part time. Keeps me in free movies. Apparently everyone who works at my store and decided I was the nerdiest of the bunch...bastards.

Oooh. Nerd, corset wearer, and movie freak. I think I like you. :D

Lol. Yes, I'm the resident Horror movie expert of the store, but my former District Manager said I was the best Entertainment Specialist (person who recommends movies to people on Fridays and Saturday) in the district. I said it's only cause I've seen practically every movie in the store and have a eerily odd memory.

Most of the time, other times I find myself far too inappropriate to coincide with my morals.. But then I get over that :p

Heh. I always hear horror stories about Blockbuster employees being total idiots, but the only people I know who've worked there were hardcore film nerds. I mean, as long as you don't recommend people The Hot Chick or something like that. Because then I'd have to take what I said back.

What's wrong with the Hot Chick?
I was about to ask that :p

I like Rob Schnider, think he's pretty funny. As well as Adam Sandler.. though, his more serious movies are pretty good too, I really enjoy his comedies.

Yeah, saying that would pretty much get you shot at the other message board I post at.

Just saw Click (Well, the last half or two thirds of it), from what I understand, I basically missed the portion of the movie that was like most Adam Sandler movies (ie: "Fart joke humor"), and caught the portion where it got mostly serious (save for the freeze frame moments when he'd repeatedly kick Speedo Torpedo in the nuts). Who knew Adam Sandler could do serious?

Also, the part where Kate Beckinsale said "I'm gonna go put on my Pocahantas costume. See you upstairs." definitely got my attention. :D

Nope, I have no quams about telling people not to get movies because I didn't like them.

it is. used to be a bank, and the meeting room for the manager was turned into our bathrooms. So they remain soundproof. Had fun testing it out (though not too much fun. ) they have the freakiest bathroom doors ever.

And Click wasn't too great. Mostly it was jsut a remake of Capra's 'It's a wonderful life.'

I'm not a fan of Sandler but he can do well, and he can do serious. Punch drunk love wasn't a great movie but it showed serious really well. Anger management I wanted so much more from but Sandler was a stone the entire time, and it was really entertaining to see it. Longest yard has been his best movie to date for me though. Happy Gilmore comes a close second and I hated Billy Madison.

I too have no qualms of telling someone not to rent a movie. I proudly told everyone that date movie was the worst piece of shit I've ever seen and I stand by that. And I've seen EVERY Uwe Boll film to date. (They're kind of fun to mock while drunk with a crowd of people.)

On the note of being good at something in the blockbuster world. I think I'm getting a 1.50 an hour raise, because I've consistently led sales service comments and been employee of the month for three months now.

Though to be honest how hard is it to sell copies of Superman Returns, Pirates of the Caribean 2, and the new Zelda game to fellow nerds? And FFXII.

Nope. Sorry. It just wasn't all that funny. Click was disappointing too, but I knew it would be.
I find that if you think a movie will be disappointing, it usually is. But because you want it to be..

But if you think a movie will blow you away, it rarely does, because you start expecting the impossible..

I go into a movie with an open mind, and just try to enjoy myself.. if I can't even smile once through the movie, then it definitely wasn't worth it (*cough* The Beach *cough*)

You know we should all go to amazon and offer to make thier recomendations for customers better. Surely between all of us we'd have most areas covered.

Not to mention we couldn't do any worse than the system they have in place now.

To be fair, I haven't seen The Hot Chick. I just figured it would be a good example. I don't see movies that I think are going to be bad because, well, I think they're going to be bad.

Though I do remember watching Billy Madison (or was it Happy Gilmore? does it even matter?) a couple years ago and thinking to myself "did I really think this was funny when I was 13?"
