New Adventure, New Thread (M)

I will leave tomorrow!
Just shoot me directions in a PM so I know wither to go.
😈

As Sally said, it looks amazing where you are!

Thank you both! I got up early yesterday and made a special trip to get that shot. That area of Oklahoma is very pretty with the fall colors right now.

All right, now back to our regularly scheduled discussion of your hotness.

Madame, it is indeed a lovely landscape.

I fear that the snow and rain and wind we received a few weeks ago means that all the good peeping is over.

Leaves! Leaf peeping I mean.
Still plenty of windows to peer in to around her hoping to find something (or someone) fun.

Only the most committed peepers seek out new views and boldly go out in the cold to get them in the Great Lakes at this time of year!

I have fond memories of getting to see fiery reds and shimmering golden yellows in the forests of northern Michigan when I worked up there.

It is meant to be very very cold this week. Probably not the best for weather for outdoor frolicking.

Ok, the frigid temperatures and grey leaden skies arrived this morning. Feel free to take them back!

As for me, feels like a good day to write and make my dad's taco recipe.

That's right, keep it warm!

My apologies to you ladies for the dull skies and frigid temps. Would that I could keep all of us in the sunlight.

There is never a BAD day for tacos.

As for keeping warm, Talk, I would love to have some help with that.
😈

Once again, snow and ice have come to coat the trees still clinging to fall and the chance for warm days.

I made it through the first 9 pages. I’ll catch up on the rest tomorrow. You are beautiful on the inside as well as out. I’m falling asleep, but look forward to more...

What an incredibly kind thing to say!
Thank you my dear!

I do apologize for being so sleep inducing. Although I should not be surprised; my prattling has put many a pretty girl to sleep.
;-)

I hope that you enjoy the rest of the photos

You are anything but sleep inducing. I was already tired. I was up kinda late. ;)

We had our first frost Sunday morning, it does make great pictures! :)

Glad to know that I am not as exhausting as I sometimes fear! =)

Hope thar you can get through another few pages tonight before your head hits the pillow

Frost indeed makes some wonderful patterns. Cannot wait to see your photos!

Spectacle

I am an outspoken man

I work outside in the wind, in engine rooms, around power tools and other things that mean speaking loudly above the din.

I swear a lot, perhaps too much.

I often end up making a spectacle of myself.

So imagine my surprise when someone recently referred toe as "spectacular." It was quite baffling to be described as such.

But I am striving to be more gracious and accepting of compliments.

So here I am on a Saturday night, trying to go from spectacle to spectacular.

That's one hell of a view! :devil::devil::devil:

I worked on a loading dock and was around a lot of truck drivers, so I speak fluent trucker, lol.

Whoever told you that was right, you’re pretty spectacular.

Thank you so very much sweet Tali!
I glad that you appreciate that angle.

You are very kind!
Perhaps the more I hear it, the easier it will be to believe.

The woman who told me is quite amazing herself; she does amazing things for my self esteem.
😁

Murphy

The enponymous hero of RoboCop (the good one, the original with all the political subtext and social commentary, where the director imagined Jesus resurrected as an American, saving the world with a gun) has a line when he reflects on the life he once had as a man and the family that was left behind:

"I can feel them but I cannot remember them."

For me, there are some people in life whom I look forward to remembering, but not feeling.

With time, jealousy, resentment, self-doubt, all the messy emotions will one day burn away.

Then I commit the sin of memory and only hold on to to the good things.

That is my ardent hope, anyway.

Thank you so very much sweet Tali!

😁

We all need someone who helps us see the good in ourselves. 💕

That view is so spectacular, it rocked me back in my chair!

I do believe the messy emotions do burn off, or fade, or get superseded by bigger messes. Once upon a time, I could barely look at a certain ex. 15 years later, we can laugh together again. I never imagined that would happen.

I wish you all good things, sir!

I have a new friend like that. I greatly appreciate her, and do my best to see myself through her benevolent eyes.

😈

Thank you for the well wishes!

Usually I never hear or see former lovers or playmates.
I seem to provoke a "scorched Earth" policy from exes.
So that, coupled with the size of this city means that I rarely interact with someone after the romance is gone

To borrow an extended metaphor, it can be hard to see someone in the hall, or hear their voice in a class and not feel strong emotions again.

But time has a way of healing us all.[/FONT]

Stand up Guy

My best friend is getting married. The first guy I ever met in my fraternity and with whom I knew that I wanted to be friends.
The guy who I always thought is cool and hip and talented. The guy who at one point told me not to get married but then 8 or so years later after I met my wife said it was probably okay.
This is the guy who as my best man cried during his best man speech and finally put to rest my doubt that I loved him way more than he loved me.

He has asked me to be his best man. This is going to prove an issue because both of us are fairly improvisational in our styles and are not the biggest fans of preparation.

One thing that is all prepared is the suit that I will be wearing at his wedding ceremony.

I guess that "wine" is a color now. So I have maroon shoes and maroon trousers and a suitcoat, custom made and tailored for the big day. Still waiting for those to come back from the shop.

It's cool having friends like that and I wish him all the happiness! Thank you for the pictures of the shoes and other stuff ;) I hope to see the suit when you get it!
