I wasn't talking about your bolded text. I was stating the fact that I didn't know what you were agreeing with and pointed out the part of Cat's post that I put in bold. Believe me if I had issues with you..you'd know. I'm not one to skate around issues or make subtle comments. I say what I have to say. All I was doing was asking a question as to which part of Cat's post you were agreeing with. Notice the part of her post I put in bold.

Ah we are only human, and perhaps a little too generous in our several interactions in this matter over more than a year but I just am not one to jump first, think later, or to expect someone to have a complete change in their manner after knowing them online for so long to be the opposite. It is confusing to say the least, but taken care of now.

I can verify this is absolutely true...we just didn't feel it would work long term, especially as we were not over run with volunteers to start with.

The Cafe is for the more casual, fluffy side of chatting etc., I just find it disturbing when a lot of threads are started (in quick succession especially ) with one person's name on it (as in a different name on each thread, not many for one person though that is devisive for me as well), and more so when accompanied by an invitation to come see that person in that thread. I guess for me it seems to carry a message of both/or exclusion and 'special people messages' to it which over time can divide the forum into a lot of personal threads about particular personalities, usually those who are happy with attention, and little about discussing BDSM.

In my mind (and yes, it may just be me) I see that person sitting on a virtual golden throne way above the rest, holding court for all who wish to come worship and adore, and are permitted into the golden light, and that is not what has been the flavour of the forum, nor wanted by most ever since I came here. I am also aware that most of these threads are likely not intended to portray this message, but it still can come across that way unintentionally. Who knows, maybe it is all a storm in a teacup in that it is more about how it makes me cringe on a personal level than how it is perceived by others.

I don't know if it's just you or not. It doesn't bother me. Even if that is the way they are intended... Still wouldn't bother me. If X wanted to post 500 threads about themselves or invite everyone in the world to see them except for me. I couldn't give a shit less. I've seen threads in the cafe that I loved that died out fast, and threads I thought were utterly useless that lasted forever. I just don't read the ones I think are pointless. As far as dividing the forum..I think that Lit is just like any other place. There are going to be people we like and people we don't. There are cliches everywhere. I don't care to be a part of the majority of them..so it doesn't bother me that they exist.

Go count how many threads I have started, or how many IYM has... vs many others who post regularly (and more so frequently than either of us) and you'll see who Cat' is referring to.

Most of our contributions as far as traffic and post counts toward fluff threads started by either of us, is on the AM PIC Section... and not here.

The part that you don't 'get' in all of this is that it might be viewed as a gesture of disrespect from me if i were to point the finger at a thread my Owner has started for me as a show of anything other than appreciation.

I'll stay on topic.

Lara was an excellent librarian, when she did the job and I'm sorry that she is no longer here. Anyone who knew her and her job performance, would agree with me.

Two people might be able to do this job. Since I don't know what the job entails, I have no way of knowing how or whether that would complicate the issue further. Like Marquis said, (and I paraphrase) it's not rocket science but it does require time, dedication, objectivity and fairness, some smarts regarding the internet and the software and learning it (if neccessary), and a helpful nature when people need that.

It's sad that there's been so few volunteer for the position or accept the nomination. The bigger the field, the better for all. But life does get in the way of such things and time constraints for many, is a big issue. It says a lot of those people that they take the position so seriously that they won't committ to a job they don't feel they can do as well as they would want to do it or as well as they'd like to see it done. I applaud them for wanting the best for the forum and not wanting to let everyone down, if they feel they can't do the job as well as they'd like to. It speaks highly of the character of those individuals.

All that being said, like sinn and others, I saw this drama coming and that was why I suggested (not nominated) some male Dominants for the job.

But what the hell.... it's been entertaining!!! LOL
