New here and getting started in BDSM

Hi everyone. I just got enough nerve, after a number of years of pining away for this, to approach my husband about taking a more dominant role in our sex life.

I really want/need to talk to someone about this new adventure, but of course, can't talk to any "friends." I don't think they would get it. Looking for any advice, suggestions, guidance you more veterans players have for us. Looking forward to making new friends and learning.

I just joined literotica. I have been a long time reader on here and just recently found the forums and have been going through them since yesterday. I have been married for 13 years and we have had a very rocky marriage putting it mildly. He is naturally dominate and has been suppressing that side to keep me happy and because he was unsure about acting on it. I am a submissive and need that type of lifestyle but tried to not be therefor we had power struggles and lots of issues that resulted in two very unhappy people that felt they couldn't be themselves. We recently had a talk that started with him asking about the book i was reading (i love reading bdsm oriented books) and that started our talk. for once i told him what i was thinking and was shocked to find that he was feeling a lot of the same things i was and completely on board and have since then made this our lifestyle in and outside of the bedroom. Since our talk and changing the route we were headed we both have been much happier and are communicating much more than we ever have and on a completely different level. Thus here i am. I am trying to read up and learn as much as i can especially knowing that he wants this as much as I. I am looking for new ways to keep him happy physically and mentally. I look forward to learning what i can from the members here.
