New Milestones Thread

Two years after I published my first story here (and a day, maybe, I didn't check yesterday), I made it onto the most followed list!

I mean, at like 279, but still!

Congrats! To give you a frame of reference, I broke into the list in 2018, with 1485 followers. So the threshold to make it has increased dramatically since then. 2729 is a lot in the first two years.

New to the site, not to smut. Wrote my first 1k words in first debut here. Reading through some of your milestones, I’m intimidated and excited to go for my own!
Welcome! Have fun writing, and remember: a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single sex story.

Impressive, most impressive.
Sometime in the last few weeks, I passed 900k total views. Mostly thanks to "A Quiet Woman", I suspect (22.5k views), not the total of 12k views across the other five stories I've published over the past two months.

Tomorrow is my 8-year anniversary of publishing stories at Literotica. It's been a fun ride. I had no idea what to expect when I published my first story, and I especially had no idea that it would become a significant part of my life and such a satisfying creative outlet. 63 stories published. 3 placed in contests. When I look back at what I've published, I'm fairly satisfied, although I want to keep getting better and I have dozens of unfinished stories to complete some day. But whether I achieve those goals or not, the creative process is enjoyable. This forum has been an interesting place to hang out, as well.

My writing pace has slowed a lot from before, but I'm still enjoying myself, so I expect to continue for the foreseeable future.

Before my milestones turn to tombstones, I thought I'd get this out there!

I started writing in November 2020, and four years later, I have a smiley face about:
65 stories were posted, with a total average of 4.5 overall.
40 stories are labeled with the red H for hot.

973,577 overall views today - not particularly noteworthy, but it's getting close to a million.
14,978 kind souls have voted on my works. My highest number of votes is 1,085 on a single story.
764,084 typed words in those 40 published stories – not bad for a guy with missing fingers! No telling how many were deleted in editing. My uneducated guess is – a million.

The Discord server I set up a little while ago now has 64 erotica authors in it discussing their process, supporting each other, helping each other figure out different venues to host their writing (encouraging a few to join Lit and post their stories here.) Just a general area for writers to talk to other writers live.

I'm assuming I can't post an invite link to it, but if anyone is interested, PM me.

It's open to every erotica author and is run by me and another Lit writer. Our goal is an inclusive community to help each other become better writers with wide viewership options. Rules are similar to here, don't be a dick, no underage, no snuff, no bestiality. And there's a guide to setting up a beta read request from other writers there. (Even exchange, someone reads for you, you read for them or someone else.)

I didn't expect it to be more than the two of us who set it up, lol. But it is growing and the diversity of opinion on writing and venues has been fascinating. I'm feeling quite happy about it.

It's called Erotically Inclined.

Edited to add: Err, nevermind on the PM, I just realized I have the link in my bio here.

And this is a place for writers from different venues, many aren't from Lit, so lots of differing opinions.

And talking about cookies and baking.

Always.

I made cheesecakes with a homemade sweet cherry sauce.

(Edited to add - I have two skills: writing and baking, I'm significantly better at one than the other, but I have fun with both, lol.)

My story Last Few Days of Summer just got its 2500th vote, 100th comment on nearly 200,000 views and all in less than 2 1/2 years. Not an IT or LW submission, either. And this from someone who had ZERO creative writing experience until I first dropped a story here about 5 years ago.
You can't hit 'em all out of the park but every now and then it's nice to hit the sweet spot and launch a story into the upper level of the outfield bleachers.

OK, bragging over. Back to the grindstone...what on earth will I do for Valentine's Day?
