New Milestones Thread

Literary glory, like the satisfaction from an orgasm, is fleeting.
I getcha. I have a story that got to #1 all time and stayed there for a week or so before dropping to somewhere in the top five. It stayed there for a good long while. I was happy with that. Then the recent top list shenanigans began and it spiraled into the 20's. I'm not too broken hearted. It still gets a lot of views, and that's the goal.

That's healthy. If you're still at the point that "I'm ticked that my smut story just lost .04 points because of a bunch of capricious smut readers" isn't the same thing as "I just lost the love of my life," then you're doing OK.

Actually, I'm having more difficulty with the story that I just removed from Lit because it's now for sale at fine smut story retailers everywhere, than the rating/position drop. It was really hard to hit submit on the deletion. Lit feels like home and the readers have been good to me. Taking stories off feels wrong somehow.

Oops, did I just accidentally step in a taboo subject for incest writers? 😅
Heh...nah, we all have our weird little limit of 'that's ridiculous' and this premise strikes me that way. The odd popularity of it, makes it low hanging fruit and I don't need the numbers that bad.

You do realise you can keep content here as well as having it retail? Two different marketplaces, really.

I was advised against having it available for free if I wanted to try and sell my work. I was not wise enough to choose another pen name for such things. I will be renaming stories that I publish in the future to keep from needing to do so.

I wasn't anything in 1985, not even a thought! 😱 :nana:

The gods of erotica were thinking about you.

Conversation in the mid-80s.

Eros: I've been thinking about Millie.

Freyja: Millie? Millie who?

Eros: Millie Dynamite. She doesn't exist yet.

Freyja: What kind of name is that?

Eros: Not her real name. Her writer name. At Literotica.

Freyja: Literotica? What's that?

Eros: It will be a site on the Internet. Where Millie will write smut stories.

Freyja: What's the Internet?

Eros: Sigh. My head hurts. I need a drink.

What can I say to that...

Sounds like a prologue to a story I'd want to read.

I have kind of an odd milestone.

One of my WIWAW stories got a sixth vote after 6 months. It had sat at 5 votes and 4.8 since it went live. Now it's 4.17 with 6 votes and I'm happy about that.

The score didn't really feel legit with so few votes, so it always felt kind of wrong.

Anyway, one story is now a lower score and I'm happy about it.

Yes, getting views and votes on WIWAWs is a struggle. I published one before the event, in February I think, and it took until sometime in the autumn to get the 10th vote. It's had none since either.
