New RPG

Jacob watched as she blushed and dropped her glass, his face completely expressionless, a turmoil inside him. Why was it always this way? He had faced gangs, flames, men bent on ending his stay on this horrid spinning ball of dirt and water, all without batting an eye. But women? No, women scared him even paler than he was naturally. He watched as tears began to course down her face and her friends attempted to comfort her. He hated to see women in pain... He muttered to himself softly, "Oh fuck it..." And stood, making his way over to their table. He nodded to the other woman, and to her obvious companion and then his eyes went to the beautiful one. He crouched, so his eyes were on level with hers. "Hello, are you alright miss?"

Billy

"I must be seeing things..... That can't be Jacob? Can it?" Billy muttered to himself. As he watched him walk into the coffee shop. "Why do I always end up in the same place as him?"
Billy continued to stare at the raven haired girl. He concentrated on her......"Mir...." "Miraaa......" "Miranda" "Miranda!" Yeah that's it" Billy smiled. He looked at the other two and concentrated........ "No they aren't the same."
He saw Jacob look in his direction, Billy smiled and nodded his head. Jacob turned back to the girl as if nothing happened. "Hmph" Billy just continued to stare.

Jacob could still feel the eyes on him, finally he placed the direction of it, turning his head and spotting Billy on a rooftop nearby. He quickly turned his head again towards the dark-haired woman so as not to draw attention to the spectacle, his thoughts speeding up a mile a minute as he waited for something, anything from her. Billy, why did Billy always seem to follow him around? And why was the moron always crouching on roofs? What did he think he was, a gargoyle or something?

Billy

"Soon", Billy thought. "He thinks I forgot about Seattle" "Hmph" Billy stood up to stretch his legs, and drew his trench coat about him to keep the chill out. He walked to the other side of the building and jumped down to the alley.
In the darkened alley he could see a boy, must be in his early teens crouching for shelter in a doorway. As silent as a ghost Billy approached. "I should end his misery", thought Billy. The boy jumped as if he were shot, as Billy just appeared near him. Billy stood before him with a knife in one hand and money in the other remembering what it was like to grow up on the streets.
Thoughts of his early life. He smiled and shook his head. He looked at the boy again. The boy was obviously scared, all he could do was look at the knife in the man's hand.
Billy turned to face the boy. The boy flinched. And then watched as the crumpled $50 dollar bill landed in front of him. He looked up at the man but, he was gone.
Tucking the knife back into his boot Billy walked over to the coffee shop and knocked on the window. All inside turned and looked at him, again he smiled as Jacob looked at him. Only this time Billy made it a point to look at "Miranda". Billy made sure she was looking at him. He smiled at her as well, than bowed and blew a kiss to her. Billy smiled inward than walked down the street. "Soon Miranda, soon."

Timothy

Tim thanked the waitress for his coffee. Letting out a heavy sigh, he took a sip, burning his tounge. "God....!" he said, a bit louder than he should have. "Like I said, what a night..." Shakeing his head, he looked around the coffee shop agian. The woman seated with the other two obviously did not look happy, but more saddened if anything. He watched her for a bit longer, and then turned his attention to the other person in the shop. Looking him over, he thought to himself, 'Must be an....artist, or lonley musician or something.' Timothy was brought out of his thoughts by the noise of a glass hitting the table, and turned to see the woman covered in water. "Seems your night is going about as good as mine, isnt it?" he said to her, as the other man made his way to her.....

Jacob's thoughts turned back as he saw Billy at the window. Seattle.. Everything had been going so good.. They'd been such good friends.. Then it had all gone so horribly wrong. Jacob still wasn't exactly sure how, he just hoped he wouldn't have to kill his former friend. His eyes returned to the woman once more. He grinned at her and gave her a mock bow. "Please ignore the fool outside the window. Miranda, is it? My name is Jacob, a pleasure to meet you..."

Billy walked down the street lost in thought. Thoughts of the life he left behind so long ago. Life on the street as a boy..... No a punk. That's what he was, nothing more than a punk on the streets of London. Stealing what he needed and bullying to get whatever else he wanted. And then he met Jacob.
Things changed a bit. He taught Billy the "Hustle", how to get what you wanted without violence. Billy like it/ no he loved it. Money, women, hell even drugs if he wanted them. Even tried to get all that for Jacob but, no all he wanted to do was brood about things of the past. Mostly old memories, Stuff he couldn't have been apart of, he was way too young; talking as if he were an old man.
I mean come on; it's the start of a new year, century, hell it was the beginning of a new millenia......1900. Who could say they were there when that happened.
Not long after Billy left London and Jacob behind. Wanting to see the rest of Europe and what it had to offer him. And than it happened in Budapest, Billy drunkenly walking down the street trying to mind his own buisness as loudly as possible. Why not it was his birthday. He was 24 winters old. He could do whatever the hell he wanted to do.
In his drunken stupor he watched as a call girl was pulled roughly into the alley. "Hey maybe he could get seconds". As he entered the alley everything went pitch black, someone hit him from behind and said, "Give me your money!!". Billy got pissed and spun, fists clenched and striking wildly. He knocked his assailant to the ground and began kicking his wouldbe mugger about the head and chest but stopped suddenly and looked down at himself, "Something is wrong" he thought to himself. "Where's the girl" he turned to go find her and ran right into the knife. He was surprised and backed away, feeling his own blood running down his legs. Touching his gut "Oh no, not in the gut" There's no coming back from a stabb to the gut. He should know, he's done it enough times.
Billy fell to his knee's while looking into the eyes of his killer, the call girl......."Should have seen it coming" Billy slumped over and blacked out.................................
He came to with a start panicking and clutching his stomach. He looked down and saw that the wound was gone, "What the hell?" He looked around. Where the the hell was he. He got up out of bed and went over to a window, well he was still in the city. he looked down at himself, "and I'm naked". Billy looked for his pants and than went about getting dressed. As he made his way out of the room he ran smack into Jacob.
Jacob calmed Billy down and told him an incredible story. A story too hard to believe........Immortal???? No way?!
If anything, Jacob has bewitched him. No everything is confusing. Billy's head was pounding and he was sweating, he had to get out of here. Jacob grabbed him and steadied him. Billy tried to break free but, Jacob was impossibly strong. Too strong.
Billy shook his head, "Enough of the past", Billy said to himself as he continued down the street with thoughts of "Miranda" now dancing through his head. "I wonder where she lives?"

Chris:

I seemed so confused about all that was going on.then i chimed in"Wanna go to the beach,"??????? i looked for a response....

Miranda

Miranda blinked her eyes furiously... looking around, she had caused so much comotion... the nice man at the coffee counter, the man kneeling in front of her... speaking softly... a sudden knock on the window. Who was that? she wondered. Why had he blown her a kiss?? Who was he? He turned, and left... She looked back at the one infront of her... and heard Chris's voice asking about the beach. Andrea nodded, and began to stand up. Miranda looked at the him... why not? she thought.
"Hey, do you want to go with us... uh, what's your name?"
She felt odd asking, but he seemed... so much like her, so... she thought for an instant that perhaps he was the same as her. She brushed that thought away, but it kept coming back.

Jacob's thoughts had turned in again. The fool was going to reveal him, reveal both of them.. This wasn't supposed to happen. He'd let Billy go off on his own for a reason. Two like them sticking together could draw attention without meaning to... His thoughts were snapped back by the woman's voice. It was melodious, beautiful, it suited her. He smiled a little at her offer. "My name is Jacob, and I'd love to go with you..." He stood and offered her his hand to help her out of the cramped booth.

Billy happily hummed a little tune to himself as he picked the lock.
CLICK!
"That was too easy" he said to himself. He looked down the hall to the left and right, no one was around. He slipped inside and locked the door behind him. If someone were to come in he could jump out the window. "Six stories shouldn't hurt that much"
He looked around Miranda's apartment, not even sure of what he was looking for. Billy smiled to himself, "The best place to start would be the bedroom." He walked down the short hallway to the bedroom and than into the room itself. He inhaled deeply, "Roses and cinnamon. yummy".
Billy looked under the bed and found a photo album, he flipped through it. Pic's of Miranda. Billy's heart skipped a beat as he flipped the page and saw a picture of Miranda in a black evening gown "Whoa", it was all Billy could say. She looked beautiful, elegant, like a princess.
"This picture is going with me." He placed the photo inside the left breast pocket of his trench coat, closed the album and tossed it under the bed.
*Meow* Billy spun, and saw a ball of white fur starring at him. "Where did you come from little friend?" He offered his hand to the cat. The cat sniffed and approached. Billy scooped up the cat and began stroking it's fur. He checked the tag, "SPOT". He held the cat in front of himself and looked at it. All he saw was long white fur, he smlied, "She has my sense of humour".
Billy checked Spot's paws and wasn't surprised. "White ball of fur named Spot. She let's you out in this city? Atleast she's smart enough to let you keep your claws."
Billy looked out the window at the fire escape, he became instantly impressed with Spot. "You make it up and down that death trap huh? You must really like your freedom."

Chris:

Gives jacob a "WATCH IT" look.I help andrea up and out of the stall."Ill drive," i say......

Jacob eyed the boyfriend a moment. He didn't seem to know Miranda well, but he was obviously protective of her, probably of all women. Well, that was certainly a trait he both admired and shared. He gave a simple nod to Chris, attempting to communicate that he meant no harm here.

chris:

I give andrea a soft kiss on the lips then i pull jacob to the side."No funny stuff and were cool,ok" i said and extend my hand...

Jacob nodded and took Chris' hand, shaking it firmly, "No funny stuff." As the group that had been three but was now four walked outside Jacob's eyes roved constantly, especially over rooftops and into alleys. Billy had given them notice, he was obviously interested in Miranda somehow, and that couldn't be a good thing. If Billy wanted Miranda for his own diseased purposes Jacob was going to be sure he didn't get her...

Billy continued to search Miranda's apartment. Lost in thought once again.

*WWII, was in full swing and Billy was in Paris under Nazi rule. He was working as a bouncer at the local nitespot. The place was now only for German officers and famous people. The only other way in was if you payed through your teeth to get in.
Billy had other interests aside from the bouncing gig. He was also the local leg breaker for unsettled debts. It also helped that he pretty much knew everybody that needed knowing, thanks to the "Hustle" (thanks Jacob).*

Billy had gotten tired of looking around the apartment anf quickly thought of robbing the place but, decided against it. He wanted to be on Miranda's good side.
He couldn't shake the feeling though. Miranda looked so much like Veronica, except Ronnie was a brunette.

** At the time the two of them were living like royalty. They were true partners in crime, they did everything together, stole, killed, fraud, kidnap. Billy and Veronica were the best. He loved her, she loved him. They were the perfect team. How many people could say that they had great sex on a mountain of money!
They were working on the ultimate score. A kidnapping they would make an easy 3 million apiece. they could retire on that. And there was no better place to do it than Seattle, home to 15 millionare's. All they had to do was pick a target.
He was scouting out one house, when he got a funny feeling; like he was the one being watched. Billy quickly looked around and spotted Jacob staring at him.
Billy approached, they clasped hands and greeted each other. "Billy" said Jacob with no real feeling. "How's it going Jaco!" said Billy knowing how much Jacob hated Billy's pet name for him. They went to a local eatery and caught up on things. It was than that Billy asked if Jacob was interested in making some money. Billy trusted Jacob so, he told Jacob the plan. Jacob didn't like it, there was too much at risk he had said. Billy dismissed him and invited Jacob back to his place to meet Ronnie.
They had a good couple of days together. Jacob again tried to talk Billy out of the kidnapping, Billy wouldn't hear it, he got upset and left. He needed to clear his head. Jacob had said he would stop Billy but, Billy knew that wouldn't happen there was too much history between them. He had been out all day, he decided to go home and talk about the kidnapping with Veronica, see what she had to say.
When he got home the door was open.....Billy felt his heart skip a beat. He went inside immediatly becoming frightened. The place was a mess. It looked like there had been a fight, "Ronnie? You there?" nothing. He started off towards the bedroom, that's when he saw the blood. "Ronnie? Where are you babe?" Billy said with a shaky voice.
Billy entered the bedroom and froze. There on the bed lay Veronica. The bed was soaked in blood there was even pools of blood on the floor. Her throat had been slashed, her chest was ripped open. Billy was in shock. He couldn't move. All he could do was stare.............Then Billy remembered Jacob's words, "I'll stop you from doing this!"
No it couldn't have been, not Jacob. Could it? Where was Jacob? And then Billy heard the sirens, he had to leave now and he did. He went to the roof and than down the fire escape and into the city.
For hours he searched until finally he sensed a familiar presence. Jacob was nearby. He approached, Jacob turned there was a sadness in his eyes. "Billy I'm so sorry. I tried to help." Billy saw the blood on Jacob's hands. Billy lost it. "THIS!!!! THIS IS HOW YOU'RE GONNA STOP ME!!!" He grabbed Jacob and shook him "YOU KILLED HER! IT WAS YOU" "No Billy, I tried to help!" Billy wasn't hearing it all he could see was red. He was so angry. "LIAR!! YOU KILLED HER!! I should kill you where you stand!" he said through gritted teeth.
People were staring at them. Billy seemed to get a hold of his senses. He shoved Jacob away from him. Jacob stood his ground but, he did back off a bit. Jacob had never seen that look in Billy's eyes before, he was a little taken aback with it. "Never. Never again will I call you brother. You are dead to me. Pray that our paths never cross again" and with that Billy disappeared into the night.**

"25 years, has it really been that long?" thought Billy. He was now layed out on Miranda's bed. He shook his head and yawned, then he he closed his eyes and dozed off. Spot laying next to him.

Jacob's mind travelled back to that night. It was strange, he hadn't thought much of the past in years, but something about this day, seeing Miranda, what was it about her that drew him so much, that seemed so oddly familiar? And seeing Billy.. He seemed to be getting lost in his past at every turn..

His mind went back to Seattle..

He had spent most of Billy's life trying to keep him out of major trouble. Sure, a little strongarming here, a little theft there, that was no big deal. People like them were above minor laws. But when the kid started killing professionally and kidnapping, Jacob started doing his best to keep him out of it. Jacob had gone down that route before, it was a road best left untravelled. Killing for a living, taking all those lives, it would haunt you forever, or it would warp your mind.

Jacob feared that the second had happened to Billy. When he had met Billy in Seattle and heard all about this little kidnapping scheme he knew from the start it was a bad idea. Taking the youngest daughter of one of the highest up men in The Family was just a bad idea all around. Something like that would not only get you killed, but everyone around you. He had tried to tell Billy this, but Billy was always so convinced he was untouchable.

Finally he'd gone back to Veronica, hoping to talk sense into her, and that maybe both of them working on him at once would do the trick. As soon as he'd gotten there he knew something was wrong, he dashed through the door, it was already open, and to the bedroom. A man's face looked up at him from the bleeding woman and the man was up in a flash and burst through the window.

Jacob was too concerned with Veronica to give more than a passing glance to the assassin. He tried his best to stop the bleeding, but to no avail. As her eyes closed, she let out a bubbling gasp, and tried her best to speak Billy's name. Jacob tenderly stroked her blood-stained hair as she passed into the final sleep. Then, realizing that he was covered in her blood, he knew he had to get out of there.

He had left and washed up, changing clothes at one of his nearby safe-houses. All night he had looked for Billy, but eventually it was Billy who found him. He had screamed and shaken him, the whole time Jacob trying to explain. But Billy had been too twisted by hate, too blinded by rage, and had run off into the night.

Jacob knew Billy would always blame him, but he also knew his responsibility. Over the next week several prominent members of Seattle society had disappeared, along with countless middle-men, thugs, and several assassins. One man had done what the corrupt police force had claimed they were trying to do for years. Overnight the organized crime syndicate of the city collapsed. Justice was served, his brother's revenge taken, whether he knew it or not....

Jacob returned to the present. It was obvious Billy thought Miranda was involved with him somehow, if that was true, God only knew what his intentions were. And if there was one thing Jacob knew by now, it was that God wasn't paying any real attention to what was going on in this world.

Jacob feared that Billy would try to take some twisted revenge by hurting Miranda, he wasn't going to let that happen. He would not let another woman die because of him.

Miranda

Miranda looked at him, and smiled softly. He seemed to be caught in thought. He was different, that was sure.
When they got to the beach, Andrea nad Chris ran to the water. Andrea looked back at Miranda, who had paled visably.
"what's wrong?"
"I... didn't bring a suit..."
Andrea laughed. "So? neither did I." she dove into the water in her bra and panties. That was so like her. She never cared what anyone else thought. All she wanted was a swim, and no one would stop her from getting one. Miranda was not so brave. She decided to sit this one out. She stared out over the water, and thought about Dylan. His dark hair, his blue eyes... the way he looked at her that made her feel as if she were everything to him. She missed him. She wanted to go back to the past, and wrap herself in it, like a blanket that would keep her safe and warm.

Jacob stood at the edge of the beach watching his new acquaintances, Chris and Amanda had stripped down to their underclothes and jumped right into the cold, surging surf. On the other hand, Miranda was curled up on the beach, looking cold, sad, forlorn. He walked to her without making a sound, stripping off his trenchcoat and carefully draping it over her shoulders. He quietly sat next to her in the sand and looked over at her.

"Do you want to talk about it?"

* The dream was always the same.............
Walking into the apartment like a scared little boy. Than into the bedroom where he saw her. Veronica..... Staring at him. Yelling at him. "WHY DID YOU LET THEM KILL ME!!!!!!!"
Her neck slashed wide open, as the blood was still pumping from her body. He felt alone. *

Billy awoke with a start. "AAAhhhhhh!!!!" he yelled. Scaring spot. He sat on the edge of the bed, cupping his head in his hands. He was sweating. "Always the same dream." He mumbled. For 25 years it was always the same it never changed. He looked up suddenly, where was he? Than he remembered, Miranda's apartment. Billy smiled and shook his head. He looked at the time, 6:32pm. He'd been here too long. Billy did not want to be here when she got home, doing that would scare the shit out of her, immortal or not.
He decided to leave, "Bye-bye Spot" he said as he walked over to the door. Looking through the peep hole, he saw no one so opened the door and closed it behind him. This time he picked the lock to lock it back.
As Billy walked to the elevator he thought to himself how nice it would be to get to know Veroni.........Miranda.

chris

I didnt care. The water felt good.I kissed angela then looked out toward miranda."I wonder what there talking about," i asked angela..

Miranda

Miranda looked up at him.
"Talk about it?? I don't think so..." she smiled, softly, "It's not a first meeting topic."

He saw a smile cross her face as she spoke, it was the first time he had seen her smile so far. She was radiant, the smile brought her beautiful features out in sharp relief. He drew a pattern in the sand with his fingertips to quench the urge to stroke that beautiful hair of hers. He needed to calm down, he hadn't been this badly infatuated in a long time.......

He pulled himself back before his memories took him over again and looked into her eyes. There, that should help hold him in there here and now. "Well, let's start off with a less emotional subject then, shall we?" A smile came, unbidden to his lips. "I know your name now, Miranda.. What do you do for a living? What are your interests?" Several words came to his mind, "lame", "stupid" and "clumsy" being among the foremost. He stomped the emotions down and just tried to go with it. Who cared if he came off like an idiot? He was surprised he was even here..
