New "Safe Haven" Forum -- Troll Solution

Thank you, Todd. I see your point. I assumed from the beginning that the real trouble would be a programming one.

Since it's not possible to go on a Crusade and root out trolls nobody really cares about without becoming a worse one yourself, maybe it's just best to ignore them until they leave.

If they ever leave.

If everyone would ignore them, they would go away do to disinterest, but as anyone gives them the slightest glance it feuls the trolls onward.

Concerned Author, you sound just like a troll to me. I mean, who would offer a "troll solution" that is no solution but a troll? Makes perfect sense to me.

Who's trolling whom?

Concerned Author:

Your suggestion was interesting but, as some have already pointed out, it would prove impractical. The main thing about 'trolls' is they crave an audience. Ignore them completely and you starve them of what they most desire. As anyone who has posted and had their posting ignored knows, it is a very lonely and unwelcome feeling. This is what they fear most and this should be their lot on this board until they learn to participate in an honest, adult way.

Mostly these trolls post in as provocative a manner as possible in order to elicit an appropriate response. If they don't get it they get frustrated and go fish elsewhere. I have been mightily tempted on more than one occasion to take one or two to task, but I've had to remind myself that would be playing their game, so I merely hit the back button and leave their juvenile junk to fester and wither on the vine. I've yet to regret that decision!

I'M inclined t o agree, which is exactly what Pyper suggest on her thread, and which is the reason why I made a link to it. If you do pay too much attention to the situation you're also in danger of being accused yourself, aren't you? Anyone read "The Crucible"?

Deborah you are the most unpleasant unreasonable illogical and just plain unkind person on this board. You'd rather cry "Troll" than be called wrong. How you think you're helping anyone is just beyond me. I don't think many would disagree that given the trolls and the liars the idiot posters the over-flirters and the just plain boring you are probably the singles largest problem affecting Literotica.

There isn't a thread you don't poison or a gentle sentiment you don't thumb your nose at. You crap on everything you touch, and call it "tough". You inspire exactly these kind of resonses which help no one and accomplish nothing (and will be the last I ever make). I hope you leave very soon so we can instantly forget you and speak again with wit and community.

As for anything else you have to say I will take all the above advice and say no more but "La-La-La! Can't hear you!"

Concerned Author, you sound just like the troll over there on the "Hey Deb? Name all your Trolls ..." thread.
