I'm sure that this has come up before, but how about a new story category for first person POV?
Or even several categories and sub-categories for POV?

What do you think?
Anyone?

I think first person POV should have its own category, and that category should then be taken out and shot.

LOL

Alright, I'm sure some people like it. I hate it, personally. I can't stop laughing at passages like, "I take you by the hand. You're neverous, and shudder sweetly. You sit upon a bed of violets. I kiss you.." etc. etc. It doesn't feel like writing to me. It feels like narration.

Funny how that approach seems to work for audio stories, though. I suppose that's how people take them. Ah well, to each his own. And, all joking aside, I dont think it's a bad idea.

Bravo DCL, I agree a separate category so I can avoid them completely. They are really godawfull tacky.

That's what I'm talking about...

Some love them and some hate them. It would seem to be a nice clear dividing line.

Ummm... that's second person sugar.

First person:

I once knew a man named James, who was, oddly enough, from the Phillipines. We had met one day while I was buying coffee at Starbucks and he a Chai Tea. I spilled my Double Chocolate Mochachino with Whipped Cream and Chocolate Sprinkles all over his white chinos. Now we laugh at it, but then he was one angry Filipino.

Second person:

You were just finishing your order at Starbucks when I wheeled around from picking up my Double Chocolate Mochachino with Whipped Cream and Chocolate Sprinkles. I noticed your intriguing smile and exotic eyes just moments before I spilled my coffee all over your white chinos. Now we laugh at it, but back then you were one angry Filipino.

Third person:

She took a sip of her Double Chocolate Mochachino with Whipped Cream and Chocolate Sprinkles, not paying attention to where she was going. James, who'd just order a Chai Tea, looked up just in time to watch her trip over her Birkenstocks and spill her coffee all over his new white chinos. They laugh about their awkward meeting now, but at the time he was one angry Filipino.

Fourth person:

That would be the fourth guy in line.

The grammar Nazi strikes again *sigh* Sorry...
