Hello all. Nice to meet you.

I'm not exactly new here. I was quite active here under another name up until a year or so ago. Since then I've experienced some personal tragedies and undergone a couple of life changes. I feel the need to write again after a long period of not being able to muster up the energy to do so. But my old name just doesn't fit me anymore, so I've put it away along with all the other stuff I've outgrown. And now I'm a Lit Virgin all over again.

This has always been my favorite part of Lit. I never stopped lurking, even after I quit posting, and I have always been impressed by the talent on display here. I'm looking forward to writing with you folks.

Nope.

Scribe here, finally getting off my **** and posting an intro. I joined a few weeks ago, blah blah blah blah blah. I enjoy sex because... well, it's sex I also enjoy writing -- or rather, find the challenge of putting my ideas onto paper to be difficult to resist. Most of my writing is "over the top" because I also like to cheat and it's easier (and fun!) to write that sort of nonsense. My ideas suck so I end up using others, anything from dom and humiliation, to tentacles and Matt Damon dressed in a Superman outfit. Yes, I'm welcome to PMs from anyone (okay, anyone female intersted in starting a thread).


k. From a few lumps I've taken, here's what I've learned about joining. No form necessary but...

1. If the thread says "open" or does *not* say closed, you can join it. Also look at the sticky thread calling for other players. Play your own character at first and browse the SRP rules. You'll eventually find others who are receptive to co-writing as well as conventional SRP.

2. Browse the threads and you'll notice *very* different writing styles of posts: Long and developed vs. short and brief; and sex vs. not-necessarily-sex. Start with threads that match your style. If you don't know your style, stick with the ones with shorter posts -- and please write a paragraph per post. If you can't think of something to write, flesh out the story. Also make mental notes of who you do and don't end up posting with.

3. PM others. If you're not sure about joining, you can PM the person who started the thread. If you like someone's style of writing (waves hands PM them a compliment. And if you notice someone you commonly post with, introduce yourself! IMO, PMs are also pretty important to co-plot a thread (guess who gets stuck easily) and are useful to see if someone will join you in a thread you're starting. No guarantees what and if they'll reply, however.

4. Ask permission. Sorta. You can always put in an OOC comment (ooc = "out of character") in your post to ask if you're taking the thread in a direction your co-writers approve of, as well as PM them.

5. Threads die. It's hard to know when to end a thread, and many times your co-writers will drop out, or just seem to. You can send them a PM if it's okay to take over their characters, the thread, to end the thread, or to start a new thread based on the old one. Conversely, I like to browse "old" threads and see if there are any that someone just started but no one participated in. Who knows what will happen if you post?

Finally, I'd say not to take things too seriously. I can't speak for everyone, but I'm here to fu -- er.. have a fun time.

Facinating...all

Hello.

This certainly is a facinating place, much larger than I had imagined and more diverse as well. I have had some minor sucess writing in the main stream, although I am an educator by profession. I thought I'd like to spend some time writing in the erotic realm. I owe so many so much as I have been reading here for several years now.

I have also found that I like the tone and tenor of the conversations here. Wandering through the posts I feel as if I have arrived at some place familiar and I am feeling very safe and understood...even though I have not yet spoken to any of you.

I have been and remain a bit of an anomoly here in three demensions. I am very sexual...never afraid to explore...I've found my limits and they are broad, a contradiction to my Catholic faith which still is close and dear. Perhaps more on that later.

I am not "anysexual", although I must confess I like the idea of the metrosexual. I want to know you...male or female...i want to spend some time over coffee....in the rain...and should I be able to arouse in you those pleasures beyond the flesh, then I am yours to use me as you wish.

I hope that together we can find some peace and pleasure and maybe even a glimps of the devine!

hello all new and not so new to Lit...I am fairly new to Lit..yet I feel I have been here a long time...I love to write and am currently in a fascinating thread that I enjoy alot...but would like to write more ...so looking through the possibilities...have posted some poetry here on Lit...and happened upon the SRP forum by accident but liked what I saw immediately....as someone stated earlier in this thread...I write characteers and situations to have fun....I am quite unlike the characters that I write about..I have a good imagination and am willing to write abouit almost everything...if asked nicely... I am a romantic at heart..yet enjoy having fun...I like to talk to many people and meeting them"online"...I like conversations and I have a varied level of interests in many things....and yes *blushes*..I get long winded in writing sometimes ...but some find that ok as well...nice to meet you all and hopefully get to know some of you as well...
