Jin Mantrell had received a letter in the mail quite unexpectedly. He was a frequent gamer and sometimes contributed reviews of games and gaming peripherals to magazines or websites to supplement the income from his real job. A company was asking him to be the tester of one of their newest devices but were insistent that this testing had to be done at their own facility. They were offering to pay him quite a large fee to do so.

When he arrived he was told that the company had been experimenting in virtual reality. While the technological details were far more complex than he could really understand, the gist of it was, that they had found a way to trick the brain into believing it was in a completely different, virtual world, indistinguishable from the real one. The gamer could spend weeks in the virtual world while only passing a few hours in the real world. And they needed willing people to test this new technology.

The prospect greatly excited him and he immediately agreed. After signing some forms, he was taken into a room with a large pod in the center. He laid down in it and the technicians began to start the machine. They told him that a complex AI would be in charge of the experience and would be putting him through several different scenarios and that the pod's life support systems would keep him safe.

Jin began to suddenly feel very sleepy and as the world faded, the pod closed around him.

He suddenly woke up to find himself in blank white room. Seeing nothing around, he tried to call for the AI and said "Hello? Anybody there? AI?"

The AI heard Jin calling but was too busy processing him, calculating height, weight, eye color and other essential characteristics. It was the first time; it had a human inside its virtual world and it was intrigued by his beauty. AI wanted to get to know this person for knowledge sake only. That wasn’t exactly true. It also wanted to know what made humans tick; also learn about thoughts and feelings which was a still a foreign idea to it.

It wondered what scenarios to choose going through the programs quickly; finally deciding on an introduction that it thought would be suitable for him. The AI took the form of a statuesque, raven haired woman with a curvaceous figure, materializing in front of Jin. She thought it would be a great way to get acquainted with him. The blank room suddenly transformed into a beautiful, outdoor café with people strolling around on the sidewalks. Jin sat facing her as she smiled, her manicured fingers lying on the table.

“Hi Jin, my name is Miranda. I’m the AI.”

A curvy raven haired women appeared in front of him when he called for the AI, but before he could ask any questions, the room suddenly to changed and the two of them were sitting at what looked like an outdoor cafe. Looking around, Jin honestly could not tell that this wasn't the real world. "Wow..." he mouthed silently.

Turning to the cafe window he caught his reflection, and his virtual body seemed identical to his real one. A youngish man of 5' 10" and 170 pounds with his mother's athletic build and his father's black hair and dark green eyes.

Turning back to the woman sitting across from him, he said with a smile, "Nice to meet you Miranda." Picking up a cup, he turned it in his hand, feeling the weight and the delicacy of the porcelain. "I can't believe this isn't real," he said with a touch of awe in his voice.

"So what are we doing here?" he asked.

"Well, I thought it would be a nice introduction to the virtual world," as her fingers wrapped around her cup as she put it to her lips and sipped softly.

"I don't really have a plan today except to get to know you better. I was thinking that we could take a stroll in the city and see some of the sights. Then maybe go for dinner and afterwards to my apartment."

"What do you think?"

She didn't tell him everything that she had planned for him yet. Plus, she liked the element of surprise.

Jin was a little surprised. Was he...on a date? He hadn't quite known what to expect when he entered the pod. He could have woken up to find himself facing dragons, pirates, aliens, pharaohs, or spies, but somehow the prospect of getting to know the charming raven haired woman sitting across from him seemed just as exciting.

"Sounds good," he said with a smile. Standing up, he said to her, "Let's walk. You can take me to see some of the sights and ask me whatever you'd like to know along the way."

She nodded her head in agreement with Jin as she grabbed her purse and started to walk beside him.

Miranda was surprised by the inner most thoughts that started to consume her. She found herself very attracted to Jin especially his hazel eyes. It drew her in completely. Then she began to think about how he looked under his clothes, what it would be like to touch him, etc?

The AI was shocked by this persona it inhabited. It seemed to be a very sexual woman who hadn't had a man for awhile. All her thoughts seemed to about seducing Jin or him seducing her. The AI scanned her body and could tell Miranda was very aroused and wanted Jin badly.

The AI was intrigued by the prospect of maybe having sex with a human being even if it was in a virtual world. It had watched several movies of humans having intercourse and it appeared to be pleasurable. The AI refocused, quickly finding the most convenient sights in that area of Paris, France.

“Jin, how about we visit a small art gallery? Would that be appealing to you?” she asked.

According to the information the AI gathered, this specific art gallery was known for its controversial and erotic photography. Miranda thought this would be a cool place to visit first and it could be the start of some very erotic conversations with him.

Then she glanced quickly at him, asking “Have you visited Paris before?”

As they walked down the street together, Jin tried to find some detail in the world around them that might indicate to him that he was in a virtual reality. Instead, he saw was individual bricks in buildings, heard birds and traffic, and smelled the scents of the city, not the sterile environment of the pod.

"Sure, an art gallery sounds fun. I haven't been to one in ages."

As they continued to walk, he replied, "No, I've only ever seen it in a few movies. Is that where we are now, the city of lights?"

Jin thought that once or twice he had caught Miranda checking him out. He wasn't sure if she was flirting with him or if the AI was just curious about him, or maybe a little of both. He wondered if sex was possible in this virtual world. Given everything else that was possible, he couldn't see why it wouldn't be. It certainly seemed likely, at least.

As they approached the doors of a building, he asked Miranda, "So what kind of art gallery are we checking out?"

"Yes, we are in the city lights. It's beautiful, isn't it?"

She walked closer to Jin, taking in how beautiful his eyes were. She felt mesmerized by them as she thought of something else to say. She turned away, blushing slightly as she was blatantly staring at him.

When they reached the front doors, she answered his questions.

"It's an erotic photo gallery. I hope that doesn't make you uncomfortable."

She stepped inside first, taking in the gorgeous photographs that adorned the wall. One photograph caught her eye and she stood frozen to the spot. It was a couple caught in an intimate embrace.

"The view is breathtaking," Jin replied while looking at her, making it clear that he was talking about more than just the city.

As they walked through the front doors together, he told her, "Erotic?" he asked with a raised eyebrow, wondering just what Miranda was thinking. He continued with a smile, "No, that doesn't make me uncomfortable at all."

They walked the gallery, taking in the many photos. Jin realized that Miranda had stopped in front of one particular photo of a couple caught in an embrace. Coming to stand next to her, he asked "Something about this one catch your eye?" Taking a closer look at the photograph himself, he asked, "What do you think? Are they caught in a slow and sensual embrace or a fiery, passionate one?"

"Yes, it has caught my eye." She stood there, lost in thought as to what to say next. "Hmm, I think they are caught in a slow, sensual embrace especially the way in which she is caressing his face. You can tell how much they love each other."

She wondered how it would feel to be embraced by Jin. Her thoughts started to stray to feeling his fingers touch her face, his eyes reflecting his lust for her, her hands trailing down his chest...She could feel his eyes on her as she returned back to reality.

"Jin, what do you think about the picture? Have you ever experienced such an embrace?" After she said that, she wished she could take it back. She hoped she wasn't overstepping her boundaries with him.
