Also, what do those labels really mean anymore. I mean we don't say that we are "going steady" anymore because that doesn't mean anything. In a world where it is common to play the field and there are plenty of people in open relationships, what does it really mean to be a boyfriend or a girlfriend. Sorry, off of my rant, but I agree with you wholeheartedly on that statement.

i think it mostly depends on the person or persons in the relationship. if they allow for open relationships then it means nothing. but if its a couple who are true to each other and stay together, then the label defines them as a couple and it has meaning
 
I don't know, I still think the labels mean something to some people, obviously not everybody though.
