I wouldn't take Dr. Shiva's word as gospel regarding anything GMO related. If it were up to her and those of her ilk the entire world would try to go back to subsistence farming and very quickly starve billions of people to death. She approaches GMO crops with the arguments of a religious zealot, that they are abominations before God, ignoring the harsh reality of her suggestion that ALL GMO crops be banned and destroyed as "weapons of mass destruction" would cause mass starvation.
She was born several hundred years too late for the agrarian lifestyle she prefers to be feasible.
