No "Queer Eye" at Utah High School

You're hoping that he'll actually come back and read your posts this time, lol. Not likely. (But we can hope, huh?)

As to the argument, I believe the use of the term "queer" rose as a deliberate political act (1) to include more than just gay men and (2) to reclaim a term used in offense. Yep, it doesn't have the exact derogatory origins of nigger, but as any Matthew Shepard news reader can tell you, it can be used with just as much brute force.

And let's skip the "my oppression is bigger than your oppression" argument anyway.

I personally prefer queer because of the inclusiveness (option 1 above, lol). I just *hate* the term "gay women" - what? the term LESBIAN is too much for ya?!

So queer, for me, includes all of us sexual "deviants" (lol), and DEFINITELY in an in-your-face kind of way. Anyone for a chant?
