It is hard to find someone who is comfortable in front of a camera, comfortable being nude, and comfortable enough with the photographer to be able to do both. And who has a boyfriend who is cool with the whole thing.

Ya... I agree
Maybe one day.
I did do a nude male photoshoot well 2 same guy..
That was fun!! :D

Did you find that directing and posing a male model was more of a challenge than a female? The one or two times I've worked with a man, I've found the posing was so completely different from a woman that it was daunting. This was many years ago and I would like to try again because I think it's good to avoid complacency. Women require soft, curvy poses, while men look ridiculous when posed the same way.

A few weeks ago I drove up to see a friend in Pensacola. Okay, so I really drove up to make some new landscape photos at the Gulf Islands National Seashore, but she invited me to stay at her place for the night, so that was a bonus.

Here a few from the following morning on the Gulf coast:

It was my first time taking photos of a guy. He needed them for his gay adult website. So I told him to act like I wasn't there and do what he would do if he was online. Then every now and then I'd tell him to look at me and stay the way he was. Then when we both got more comfortable I told him to pose for me. It was fun and exciting. I want to do it again. But this time I'll flirt some.. 😈

Well, as a professional, I would caution against that. For one, the current political climate is soured on the classic idea of a photographer who beds his models. This was typically a thing in heterosexual fashion modeling, but now it has started coming up in every facet of the industry.

Two: if you can earn a reputation as someone who can be trusted to maintain professional integrity as well as your clients' discretion, you will get more clients through word of mouth than you ever could through advertising.

Just last month in Orlando, a local photographer was arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a woman who hired him for boudoir photos. I believe the case isn't going to trial due to lack of evidence, but that guy will likely never get another female client and the whole situation has cast every photographer in a bad light. Personally, I think he did it, as I've talked to other models who have worked with him and he apparently gives off a creepy vibe as well as "flirting" constantly. And if he is completely innocent this time, he may have put himself in a bad position by being someone other people would warn you about.

I'd like to think I could call upon anyone I've worked with as a character witness to tell the court I'm a decent fellow instead of worrying who might come forward to say I was a real jerk during a photoshoot.

I get all that... I'm not looking to make a career out of it.. I'm a sports car photographer..lol
Plus he started the flirting I just didn't go for it.

But I agree some photographers go into taking pics of girls just to be a perv.. Which is sad.

I've been transferring some old VHS home movies to digital and needed a new VCR that could handle the rather deteriorated condition of the old cassettes. We had an old machine that would play the tapes, but not without lots of signal corruption. So, I bought an old medical-grade S-VHS VCR on eBay with only a few hours on the heads. It was obviously not used very much because the interior is spotless (I opened it to adjust the video signal) and the anti-tamper decals were still intact. Needless to say, it plays the tapes flawlessly. I might even be able to recoup my investment by reselling it to someone else. Winning!

This shot was taken back in November. From my driveway with my Nikon D3300. Not the greatest shot but I love that these hawks have made our neighborhood their home. There's usually 3 of them hanging round as the neighbor has a few feeders in her yard that I'm not sure she realizes is a buffet for them. Haven't yet figured out if they're juvenile sharp shinned or cooper hawks but they sure are gorgeous. Also couldn't figure out how to post the picture directly into the message box like you do yours so it's a link. Anywho, hope it helps. :)

Although I am surprised you haven't been instructed to move it to the AmPic thread as they don't usually allow picture posting in the Darkroom Lounge. *shrug*

It’s not my thread, so I couldn’t move it if I wanted to.

Great additions EK, I can't believe you've kept this thread alive for the last 10 years

Woooooot!!! It worked!!!!! :D :D

Indeed. Now you need to pic an image size that, when linked as above, will fit on the screen of most users without having to scroll up and down to see it in its entirety. I have a 27", 5K monitor, but I doubt most other members will be able to see more than half of your photo without scrolling.

Ha! Indeed. I picked the first pic in my cell phone gallery that wasn't one of my grandbabies, to be honest, didn't even think about sizing. I was just so stoked it worked :)
