Today's sled dogs are very different from the dogs that ran in the the serum run. Those were work dogs, not necessarily fast, but damn strong. And dog drivers then were not necessarily kind to their dogs with exception of the leaders.

I am very proud to provide a link to this video, Kikkan. She's an awesome young woman. I suppose, not that young any more. She and my son were classmates in HS. Her mom and I were Classmates in HS. I knew her grandpa, a very cool guy.
