we're watching it, and i kind of agree... it's just these things so rarely transfer well to film from a book one's read as it can't live up to everyone's individual imaginations and likely has had to cut a lot of stuff out to fit. still, zach quinto is always worth watching

it took a long time warming up and it's getting into now, but it still doesn't get me like their books do. seems reading it works out way creepier in my head than seeing it played out.

what i do like, though, is all the little references to stephen king's books... names of places, things... and sunday night's references to misery (that big old typewriter and picking it up ready to throw it) and the clown (it) in the bar just for 2. there's also a lot about being the kid of a parent with alcohol/drugs issues that gives a deeper insight into the issue and rings true on a level not often seen.

all together, i'm still left feeling like i do about s.k books brought to screen... the books are better.

have you seen the darktower film or series yet? they sound really disappointing so i've not summoned the courage yet since the dark tower books are my all time favourite of king's.
