Not quite myself

Perfect timing. The search function is broken. :) That seems to me a sign from God that I should never trouble myself to hunt up what that disagreement was. All the best of the new year to you, and I hope that I was not a completely insufferable ass in the course of said disagreement. Humblest apologies if (as seems awfully likely) I was. :rose:

No, no. It was just a misunderstanding. I'm afraid I was the ass, so I apologize too. :)

Fixed your post. :cattail:

*groans*

*bangs head on table*

Loved yours too, Rob.

Trysail, you're much too kind. I honestly did not start this thread to fish for compliments - although that's not to say that I'm going to throw any of the catch back. *chuckle* I've just been confused enough that I was hoping to avoid confusing anyone else.

Ah, vain hope. :D

Fish?!? I have to come up with "seahorse" puns now?!? :catroar:

Your rider might want to try a hackamore. It worked with a recalcitrant palamino I once knew.

And because the thread title made me think of it, here it is.

Duck Amuck

You're welcome. :D

BWAA-hahahhahahaa. God, how I love the old Chuck Jones LoonyToons. Some favorite moments:

"I demand that you shoot me now!"

~ Daffy Duck

"I better not look; I just might be in there."

If they're giving you what I think they're giving you, there are some great ways to take advantage:

1. Call a press conference to demand that George Mitchell review performance-enhancing substance abuse among baseball fans. (I'll lend you my Cyclones cap for effect.)

2. Harness the emotion-enhancing effects of your meds to become terrifyingly, bullyingly, monomanically pro-something. I recommend the metric system.

3. Only ironing can soothe the savage irritability and need for action that certain substances invoke: let your shirts benefit from your emotional state.

4. Stupid action movies - especially those with lots of explosions - will never appeal to you more. Act now, before the stupid rule-obsessed captain takes away McBain's badge forever.

Hope that's of immediate use,
H

Immediate and profound use. I'm told that posts like this are (if you'll pardon the cliche) superb medicine. I've already put myself to work on number two; I went over to the GB and engaged the resident wit, who is currently arguing that the definition of "civilized society" is "Maya Angelou." Bless his little cotton socks. And iron them, too.
