Most of the "Incest" category stories I've read (admittedly a small number, that REALLY isn't my thing) seemed to involve underage siblings. I have no idea how they got through it, except that I think they didn't mention age at all, just vaguely hinted at young teens. I've very rarely read that the kids in question were legal. I'm gonna have to go back and search to find for sure, cuz those need to be gone.

If you feel a story gives strong hints to underage sex, feel free to report the story/author to Laurel so she can be informed about it!

On another note, why is it Incest seems to be the only category that gets attacked with pedophilia?

Because it's very convenient for those "coming of age" stories. Most other categories don't need to rely on the innocence of youth to make a good story, yet that seems to be a pretty key factor in many Incest stories. However, I'm not bashing the entire category for pedophilia, just that it's more logical (in a twisted way) to include it in that particular area.

in the state i live in 17 is the age of consent, in arkansas its like 14. i agree the idea of a 10 year old having sex is very wrong because it isn't natural, but if you think that a teen aged girl or boy aren't having or at least thinking about sex you must have skipped the entire teen thing. i understand its the law but i don't agree with the definition. just a idea anyway.

Age of consent is a tricky thing. No matter what any state's "legal consent age" is, the MINIMUM U.S. legal adult age is 18. Hell, when I was 15-16 I "dated" a few 19-21 year olds. Had my parents found out, those guys could have been in quite some trouble. And, supposidly Nebraska's age of consent is 16. A minor is a minor is a minor. There are many little "rules" surrounding age of consent. And, parents of a MINOR under 18 CAN take legal action of an ADULT over 18 if they're "messin' with their baby".

And, I don't think anyone here is denying that teens, kids, adults...HUMANS...are sexual beings. We are. Simple as that. Hell, I know I was a sexual being early on. But it doesn't make it right for a legal adult to fantasize about me when I was a child.

Saddly, I pretty much knew the answer when I asked my question. It was half rhetorical half not. The answer in my head was similar to what you wrote.

There are many things that are illegal in actual act, or things some may see as "unmoral" here at Lit. Bottom line, this is Laurel and Manu's site. What they say go. If they wish to ban kiddie porn in the written form, it's their perogative. If you don't like it, leave. Or shut up. You could always start your own story site.
