Judicial Watch sources: Ft. Bliss increases security in face of imminent terrorist threat



Fox News analyst Monica Crowley was one of the few journalists to draw attention to a Judicial Watch report earlier this week revealing that “an [ISIS] attack [on the southern U.S. border] is so imminent that the commanding general at Ft. Bliss, the U.S. Army post in El Paso, is being briefed.”

“High-level federal law enforcement, intelligence and other sources have confirmed to Judicial Watch that a warning bulletin for an imminent terrorist attack on the border has been issued,” Judicial Watch reported.

Judicial Watch updated its report Sunday, claiming that Ft. Bliss has now upgraded its security:


… two days after JW published this report Ft. Bliss implemented increased security measures. The statement that went out to the media attributes the move to several recent security assessments and the constant concern for the safety of military members, families, employees and civilians. However, El Paso’s newspaper credited JW’s Friday piece about ISIS terrorists planning an attack on U.S. soil from Juarez as a possible factor.

The El Paso Times reprinted part of a press release from the base, reporting that two gates will be restricted to individuals with Department of Defense IDs through 5 a.m.Tuesday due to “several recent security assessments and our constant concern for the safety of military members, families, employees and civilians.”
