Obama blasts the evil 1%'ers

I do not think Obama smokes crack, but he is willing to let his relatives live here illegally and in Kenya in a shack.

I always tell Malia and Sasha, look, you guys, I don't worry about you. I mean, I worry the way parents worry, but they’re on a path that is going to be successful, even if the country as a whole is not successful.”
President Barack Obama, November 2011

Hey speaking of "not successful", how is the job hunt coming along? ;)

“We’ve got a structural problem in this country. ”What you’ve got is middle class and working class Americans who are being squeezed and working longer hours for less pay; it’s harder for them to find jobs that pay a living wage. And it’s those structural long-term issues that I think Democrats are going to be debating on because that points to whether or not my children… are going to have the same standards of living we had growing up.”
Barack Hussein Obama, 2004 (Discussing a jobs report of 300,000 new jobs.)

We are going to have to ask everybody to sacrifice. And if we’re asking community colleges to sacrifice, if we’re asking people who are going to see potentially fewer services in their neighborhoods to make a little sacrifice, then we can ask millionaires and billionaires to make a little sacrifice.
President Barack Obama

President Barack Obama, November 2011

We left corporate America, which is a lot of what we're asking young people to do. Don't go into corporate America. You know, become teachers. Work for the community. Be social workers. Be a nurse. Those are the careers that we need, and we're encouraging our young people to do that.
Michelle Obama

Just fucking sacrifice for your new God...

Obama has never been overly modest about his own powers. [during his campaign], he declared that history will mark his ascent to the presidency as the moment when “our planet began to heal” and “the rise of the oceans began to slow.”
When you anoint yourself King Canute, you mustn’t be surprised when your subjects expect you to command the tides.

Charles Krauthammer

Words are no substitute for actions.

Ishmael

Is that like saying we will not allow Iran to go nuklar?

;)

U.S. presidents who have used this pronunciation include Dwight D. Eisenhower, Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton, George W. Bush [11] as well as U.S. Vice President Walter Mondale.[12] In his 2005 book, Going Nucular, linguist Geoffrey Nunberg suggests that the reasons underlying the differing pronunciations of this word may be different from president to president. Whereas Eisenhower's pronunciation most likely arose from his lack of familiarity with the word (having first learned it in mid-life), Bush's usage may represent a calculated effort to appeal to populist sentiment,[13] though this theory is rejected by linguist Steven Pinker.[12] This analysis is repeated in the second edition of Charles Harrington Elster's The Big Book Of Beastly Mispronunciations.[9]

:D :D :D

He's being prevented from taking any meaningful action.

From my standpoint he's been quite able to fuck one thing after another. And you would think that a man his age would have learned by now that if you can't make it happen..........keep your fucking mouth shut.

Ishmael

He's the president. I wish he'd get out there more and actually put pressure to get shit done, but mostly he's been cowardly.

Of course, not being white and not being Republican are automatic justifications for impeachment on Planet Ishmael.
:nods:

My former friend went into the car business. His specialty was in repossession. He would sell cars to people he know could not afford them, get the down payment and a few payments and then go get it and put it back out on the lot.

Commonly known as "Pay Day Motors."

He is but a mere man. A citizen that once his term is over will return to being just one among millions. And as a mere mortal he is subject to all of the flaws, foibles, and bankrupt philosophies that all men are subject to. His faults are major and long standing and no well delivered lines are going to cure him of his flaws. He may have a vision, but he has NO clearly articulated path to achieve those goals. He never really had the confidence of the legislative branch and now he has lost the confidence of the people. Both are required to achieve lasting legislative goals in this nation.

Because he never really made an effort to form bonds with congress, particularly the republicans, as a result his legislative efforts are met with a great deal of suspicion. And his efforts to rally the people with populist rhetoric further alienated both the republicans and members of his own party. The obvious example of this is the fact that democrats in close races don't want him anywhere near their districts or states. This is also clear evidence that he is trying to 'rule' against the will of the people. What is amazing about all of this is that his administration is collapsing in spite of the almost unanimous support of the main stream press.

The veneer is peeling quickly.

Yadda yadda. Nobody has ever claimed he was anything more than a man, but he had a clear and simple path to his goals. The fact that he was denied doesn't make the only path available to him any less legit.

the idea that he never attempted to make bonds is bullshit. He was never given any opportunity and bent over backward to the point of abandoning his base to try to build bridges. You can't build bridges to people who don't want them.

The veneer as you put it has been quickly peeling for six years and yet remains almost static. One who was paying attention would think you're either lying or uniformed.

Obama is in that top 1% himself, at least in terms of income.

That's an observation, not a complaint.

The $174,000 salary for a member of Congress puts you in the top 10% of earners. So those teahadists that complain about people leaching off the government boob well they can't complain that much.

thanks for offering more proof to your stupidity....

Obama is as inclusive as he is transparent.

Semper Faux Sean.

He's pretty fucking transparent as well all things considered. He's fallen far shy of where I wanted him on the category but lets not pretend that like many other things that the Republicans (and reality in general) didn't fuck him. And I've read several opinions suggesting that at least part of the problem withour gridlock is a direct result of the increased transparancy not just of Obama but of Bush and the internet age in general.
