While amnesty is eventually going to happen step one is force all employers to use e-verify. Then do periodic sweeps and if you have whatever percentage we agree is too much to be an "accident" your business license is revoked and you go to jail. Just keep nailing them to the wall until it sticks.

Step two would be working on backing down significantly on the war on drugs but it's going to take a lot more work to get people to agree to that.

I agree there. That wall is a waste. Personally, I think amnensty was the better idea, get them to pay taxes. Besides, this country needs cheap labor, bring them all in.

She testified a couple of days ago that she was developing a new "metric" for measuring border security, and implied any measurement of border security what amounts to de facto amnesty.

It is more secure by pretty much any metric you can ask for. It sucks but it's true.

Democrats, Republicans, Libertarians, etc. define fair tax rates all the time. They just don't agree. But it's a silly argument anyway. Tax rates should be variable depending on the need. Not some predetermined percentage that can never change regardless of circumstances. Why do right wingers have such a burning need for some rigid philosophical stance based on ideology like the if it's not written in stone like the Ten Commandments we might have to actually use our brains to make a decision and that would be bad?
