During the Second World War, there were no politically-progressive left-wingers demanding that Nazi prisoners of war be freed. Nazi POW's had no U.S. Constitutional rights.
That is because they were POWs. As such, they had considerable legal protections under international law, were well fed and treated humanely, and could expect to be released at the end of the war, and keeping them locked up for the duration was simply the fair and safe thing to do.
This situation is not that. How do we know when this "war" ends?
