‘Melania’ Has Already Out-Grossed Five 2025 Oscar Nominees

Absolutely fun to watch Wilson and luv interact. Both have been banned for equally annoying bullshit.

Billionaires are buying huge blocks of tickets, but the theaters are empty. Nobody is seeing it.
Theaters are generally empty anyway unless is marvel, Disney or something like that, so I’m guessing it’s emptier than empty. The worst date movie I saw was midnight cowboy, but I suspect Melania might even be worse.

In just one weekend, Melania’s $7 million, three-day weekend haul has already out-grossed the entire domestic run of five 2025 movies nominated for this year’s Academy Awards. This includes — tee hee — two Best Picture nominees.
  • The Secret Agent: $3.25 million — Four Oscar nominations for Best Picture, Actor, Casting, and Foreign Film.
  • Sentimental Value: $4.57 million — Eight Oscar nominations for Picture, Director, Actress, Supporting Actor, Original Screenplay, Foreign Film, and Editing.
  • If I Had Legs I’d Kick You: $1.09 million — Best Actress.
  • Blue Moon: $2.11 million — Best Actor, Original Screenplay.
  • It Was Just an Accident: $1.78 million — Original Screenplay, Foreign Film.
People will argue that some of those titles are foreign films. Melania is the story of an immigrant and plenty of foreign films have made more than $7 million.

People will argue that most of those titles had a limited release. Don’t make me laugh. Limited release is a marketing strategy in the hopes word-of-mouth would carry them into more theaters and bigger box office. The lack of a wide release is based on their failure in limited release.

Back in the day when I was in the industry, a film that gross that high in comparison to other reasonable movies of the time, tended to burn out after the first weekend.
If a movie was a dud, we’d promote the hell out of it so it would gross high in the first weekend before word of mouth got out.it was referred to as a 4 Waller like pack it to all 4 walls…

Who the fuck is still going to movie theaters? :)

I'm actually willing to go to watch Melania's movie. I just have to get my feathery butt off the branch, into the sky, and go do it.

A movie that is in thousands of theaters performs better than several movies that are in five theaters, monetarily.

Neat

I agree that paying for that disaster is for the birds.

AMAZON PULLS MELANOMA FROM THEATERS

https://www.theguardian.com/film/20...icism-as-rumours-mount-over-fake-ticket-sales

Amazon’s cancellation of the film in the Oregoncinema comes as some in the US have flagged the incongruity of healthy ticket sales and apparently empty cinemas.

The film took $7m (£5.1m) over its opening weekend domestically and opened at No 3 in the US box office charts. The Daily Beast reports that there have been accusations of “fake tickets sales” to boost the box office totals.

Citing the Substack of industry pundit Tom Brueggemann, the article claims: “Industry sources say there were signs that blocks of tickets were purchased for the weekend, then distributed to senior citizen homes, Republican activitists, other interested parties for free to help boost audiences.”

More bigly lies from the biggliest lying administration ever. Passed on by the biggliest lying propagandist on the board.

there was celebrations from the trump right wingers and the right wing media universe while there was the trash talks from the left wingers and the left wing media galaxy

but at the same time there was somewhat meltdowns from the right wing universe about the left wing galaxy making fun of the documentary and trash talking about it while there was somewhat celebrations from the left wing galaxy about the documentary getting low ratings and being really bad
