Obamaloney's Pathetic Recovery

Here are a few stats for you all to mull over...real nice work Barry, real nice.

  • 5.1% - The current unemployment rate for government workers, which is the lowest unemployment rate for any of 17 different categories and subcategories of industries for which employment is tracked and published on a month-to-month basis by the Department of Labor.
I never understood this. How can anyone be an "unemployed government (or whatever else) worker"?

If you're unemployed, doesn't that mean you don't have a job in which to be a worker in?

Sorry, I'm not busybody... but apparently, you are.

Where was the best place to sled near there in the winter as a kid?

Dan Ryan's Woods. Of course when I was a kid they still had the toboggan chutes there and we would go tobogganing. The hill there was also good for sledding.

Anymore questions?

I have one for you...what was the name of the seminary that was located on Western Ave.

I'm not religious at all, so I probably can't answer that.

And western is a LOOOOONG street. You'll have to be more specific.

Even though Western Ave. is a long street there was only one Seminary located on it, but I will give you a hint. Same side of the city I lived on.

Well the south side then obviously... but if it's still there, I wouldn't know where it is.

I did just drive down that stretch not too long ago. Most of the car dealerships between 50 and the midway line (which was probably not there when you lived there) were still around, but between 51st and up to the Dan Ryan Woods, it was a wasteland.

It was closed in 1990, Quigley South was it's name. Actually, I was living in Westmont up until 2009. Prior to that I was in Woodridge. I have only been to Midway via 55, I haven't been back to the old stomping ground since '72.

I'm a north sider, grew up near Lawrence and Clark. Right by where the Rainbo used to be.

I couldn't live in the suburbs... too depressing.

I was referring to the Midway line... the train. It was put in in '93. The stop on Western is at like 45th or something.

And why is it bad if they're working instead of staying home drawing on welfare?

My first job was a summer job at the International Harvester plant on Western, right across from County lock up. Of course that was back in '68. The plant shutdown in '71 and the workers distributed around to the suburban plants.

Never used the train.

I do have a business and I'm also retired, yet still work 60 hours a week. As to hiring someone, I have three people working for me. They just happen to be family members. Family first, always.

Statist - no. Fucking - yes. :D

You must be the worst personal financial planner in the history of financial planning. If you blame your epic defeat on Obama, that's a you problem.

What the fuck are you talking about? I would suggest you quit smoking what ever it is you smoke, because my business doing just fine. Where the fuck you read that it isn't...god you're so fucked up if you read something like that.

If you work 60 hours a week while being "retired" makes you a fucking dumbass. Why is that so hard for you to grasp?

I see, mister welfare recipient, if a person works hard to earn a living, he's a dumbass. Even though he's already retired from one job and collecting a nice pension, he's stupid to work hard to have a nice business to pass on to his children or grandchildren?

So, Mister Socialist, what should I do with my time...I only need three to four hours of sleep a night, so I have a lot of time on my hands. I'd rather make a nice profit, than just sit on my ass like you do, so I work, I produce and I earn. Someone has to keep your welfare check come to you.

While it is true, I don't have to work, I choose to work, unlike you.

That's cool. Not cool it shut down, but it sounds like you were a good blue collar American.

My dad worked for IH when I was a kid. In California, though.

I was seventeen, my uncle got me in as a laborer for the summer. Instead of sweeping floors they put me to work in the repair dept. I spent the next year working my way up to a machinist. Then I was off to college. My Uncle told me about the plant closing. He was a electrician and was there until the very end. He retired the day the plant finally shutdown.

Yes, I was. I was a member of the UAW. My wife was a member of the IBEW.

I wasn't always a blue collar man.
